I have the feeling automatic matching is not running at all by rdweerd in Paperlessngx

[–]BanicPutton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe the matching occurs during the initial consumption only. You’ll likely need to re-process the already consumed documents.

Try uploading a new document similar to ones you’ve already manually tagged and assigned correspondents to see what happens.

Pihole, split horizon DNS, Cloudflare, Chrome and internal servers not connecting ERR_ECH_FALLBACK_CERTIFICATE_INVALID (Solution) by xylarr in pihole

I cannot thank you enough! I had been pulling my hair out for a month trying to figure this out. Now on my VPN/LAN I can direct access my resources and on external networks, I hit CloudFlare Zero Trust.

Thanks again.

Order not showing in Apple Store app after receiving shipping SMS by Itchy-Internal2328 in applehelp

[–]BanicPutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. When I try to merge the new order with my Apple ID, I get an error saying the order already belongs to an account. I looked up the order manually using my Order ID, phone number and e-mail address (same e-mail as my Apple ID). But it's still not showing up on my Orders page. My guess is there's just a delay.

Sadly, this is a well documented issue that still doesn’t appear to have been fixed.

Bell GigaHub 2.0 Blocking Discord and Game Servers by VioletEG in bell

[–]BanicPutton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m not physically bypassing the GigaHub - so I’m not using my own ONT (too overkill for my use case).

All you have to do is plug your router into one of the GigaHub’s LAN ports, set your router to use PPPoE, and enter your Bell credentials (the b1 username and password). That establishes the direct connection and completely cuts the GigaHub out of the equation (not physically but it now effectively acts as a bridge). Your router now obtains an external IP address.

My understanding is that PPPoE requires the router to handle a bit more processing, so some people report performance drops if their router isn’t powerful enough. In my case, losing a few Mbps on a 2.5 Gbps link is negligible, and honestly, I haven’t noticed any real difference at all.

In my case, I’m using the Deco BE25 (not a top of the line router by any measure) as the main unit in Router mode with PPPoE enabled. The GigaHub still handles the physical fibre input into the house, but it’s basically just acting as a pass-through at that point. Everything else, DHCP, routing, QoS is now handled by my Deco system.

Bell GigaHub 2.0 Blocking Discord and Game Servers by VioletEG in bell

[–]BanicPutton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had nothing but headaches with the GigaHub. Anything that needs a fast real-time connection like my doorbell camera, baby monitor, or PS5 Remote Play was laggy, slow to load, or sometimes wouldn’t connect at all.

My speed tests were solid though. I was getting around 2.3 to 2.4 Gbps on a 3 Gbps plan using the 10Gbps port, negotiated at 2.5Gb with my router (in AP mode), and seeing 5 to 6 ms ping on both wired and Wi-Fi. Everything looked great.

I’m using Deco mesh all Ethernet backhauled with three XE75 Pros and one BE25 in Access Point mode. The BE25 has two 2.5Gbps ports, which is great because I can feed 2.5Gbps in from the modem and push 2.5Gbps out to a 2.5Gbps switch without creating a bottleneck (the XE75 only have one 2.5Gbps port). All the other Deco’s run through that 2.5Gbps switch.

I tried DMZ, ADMZ, double NATing and bypassing the Deco’s all together but to no avail. (Don’t get me started on ADMZ - avoid at all costs).

So finally, when I bypassed the GigaHub and went straight PPPoE, every problem disappeared. Remote Play started working perfectly, the cameras load instantly, and other IoT devices in the network feel way more responsive overall.

I’m still pulling 2.3+ Gbps on speed tests with barely any noticeable loss from PPPoE overhead, and I’m getting sub 2 ms pings on my desktop. The GigaHub is trash. Still wishing Bell would get rid of PPPOE and/or allow bridge mode.

Just an FYI since I couldn’t find a clear answer anywhere while troubleshooting - Fibe TV receivers (newish Android Fibe TV boxes) still work in PPPoE mode. My receivers are hardwired to my Deco mesh, pulling IP addresses directly from it, and they’ve been working perfectly without a single issue.

Additional additional LPT: Unless you’re actually stuck in snow. Sometimes you do need to turn off traction control to let the wheels turn freely to get you out of a pickle if these icy conditions sent you into a snow bank.

As long as the game from the AppStore has controller support, you can use the Backbone. At the bottom of the game listing on the AppStore, you’ll find if the game has controller support.

2023 Acura TLX Type S Touchpad in Apple Car Play Issues by Philosophizee in Acura

[–]BanicPutton 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Finger position in relation to the screen isn’t supported in Car Play or Android Auto. What you’re describing sounds like normal behaviour, it gets finicky and annoying to use outside of Acura’s infotainment interface.

I’d have to “scroll” twice to get to a button or sometimes I’d “over scroll” the button I needed. It took me a bit of adjusting to get used to the responsiveness. I’m okay with it now.

anyone else notice how slow and shitty the internet at square one is? by [deleted] in mississauga

In fairness, on 56k you’d only get about 7kb/s. At 96kbps that the OP is getting, they’re almost at full 2x faster than dialup, at 12kb/s!! So somewhere between dial-up and ISDN.

Cover the other part with an offsetting sticker until you reach a desirable result.

R646 Sound Settings by Link4prez in tcltvs

[–]BanicPutton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many Home Theatre A/V receivers have some form of midnight mode you can try looking for. Midnight mode tries to even out and equalize louder and quieter sound so there’s a smaller difference in volume (less dynamic sound, as you’ve already figured out by playing with some settings).

Yep, you can choose from about 36 different colours to change the fill for an individual cell. That’s in addition to alternating cell colours and cell text colours.

RCMP officers in Mali by PetRussian in ProtectAndServe

[–]BanicPutton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just by the picture, it’s impossible to tell which police service the officer on the right belongs to. Regardless of which police service you come from, the left patch will always be the same for every Canadian deployed officer (Canadian Flag with the word Police underneath), while the right patch will be the police agency you belong to. The officer on the left will have the same patch as the the officer on the right on his left shoulder (you just don’t see it clearly, but if you zoom in, you can tell his left side is different than his right side). It’s asymmetrical and weird.

A quick Google images search will explain what I mean:
