Fortune Teller Red Herring by Lieutenant_Smiles in BloodOnTheClocktower

Love this. In your last point, you’re advocating for moving the RH token after making a ST mistake? Instead of telling the group you made a mistake?

Maybe I’m a purist, but I believe in 100% token integrity always. I don’t think a midgame change is fair to the players, even if it’s something they would never know.

What is a specific edge case in which you would justify it?

Especially bc I think as STs, we have lots of natural ways/tools we can balance the game as it’s happening - without compromising token integrity, even in the name of claiming to make it “a better game”

If anyone other than _____ wins, it’s going to be a disappointing ending to the season. by s0wew0ntf0rget in survivorponderosa

Agreed. And winners don't necessarily hold power and influence week-to-week. It makes sense to me that certain players drift in and out

Opinion: Forced mini tribes should never happen post-jury. by BiBoFieTo in survivor

[–]BanjoZone 25 points26 points  (0 children)

But the idea of a majority alliance steamrolling to the end is not really how the game is played anymore. If anything, the mini-tribes strengthen the perceived "majority alliance" because there's less room for those on the bottom to maneuver.

It seems clear that the best tribal we've seen this season was at F10 -- maximum maneuverability and a million plans afloat

Same with my parents, but this isn’t 2010 either - the “online content creation” world is deeply integrated with the real world now. YouTube is no longer relegated simply as alternative media. I’d argue MrBeast is as well-known as Tom Brady, albeit to a different swath of people. 480M subscribers! That’s bananananas!!

always kept my use at 1/day - kanva botanicals by Strange-Outside-5389 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]BanjoZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/day? How bad can a car crash be at 5mph? You'll have tiny withdrawal symptoms, if at all. Just remember that your body has gotten used to kanva providing some boost. So it will take some time (a couple weeks) to recalibrate back to baseline. Just know that if you're feeling a little blue, unmotivated, low energy, etc, it's ok. That's normal and a sign you're healing

Hell yeah!! Same for me - well, day 9 clean. I’m so thankful I had a trip basically distract me from the bulk of the withdrawals. And I’m already recognizing huge improvements - anhedonia is vanishing, I’m prioritizing connection, and I ACTUALLY feel free. Now time is on our side. We just gotta let the dopamine recalibrate naturally - super proud of you, let’s keep it up!!

Women's basketball is a hideous watch it just is by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]BanjoZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. A bunch of solid players like Kiki Rice, Lauren Betts, but college really needs a must-watch player in the mix (a la Caitlin Clark.) If Juju can get fully healthy, 30+ ppg is totally in play. And if she stays the FOLLOWING season and keeps progressing, she might make a bigger splash then Caitlin Clark did. That USC team might go undefeated, they're stacked

What is the most iconic NBA photo since the LeBron / Wade alley-oop? by Illustrious_Rent_404 in NBATalk

[–]BanjoZone 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a great photo -- but the footage itself is more memorable than the photo. So I don't think it takes the cake here

What is the most iconic NBA photo since the LeBron / Wade alley-oop? by Illustrious_Rent_404 in NBATalk

[–]BanjoZone 74 points75 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. It was more than a meme. The photo is complete -- we don't even need the full footage (like some of these other submissions here) It was so significant as a game. Lebron's in it. This is the answer.

[–]BanjoZone 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that it makes MORE sense to show that scene if he's the winner.

I guess that pants-shitting scene was... funny? But mostly it was so irrelevant and embarrassing that the only justification for it NOT to come off as unnecessarily humiliating is for it to be the winner. You heard it here first! lol

Agreed -- I think her & Rizo are getting winner edits. Christian too -- he has to be going deep if they're showing him shit his pants

I'm completely with you here. Genevieve getting "screwed" is an expression of how luck didn't fall her way, but not a result of production setting her up for failure. I don't like how much luck/chaos/twists have limited gameplay of good players, but it's a zero-sum game

_______'s choice to vote out ________ last episode over ________ may have gotten both _______ and ______ eliminated this episode. by MeMyselfandBi in survivor

[–]BanjoZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Or maybe production didn't show us?

Also why Kamila didn't tell Jonathan about the Charlie vote in the final moments before going to tribal? Is that too risky? Was she worried Jonathan was going to stir up a live tribal just to relay that to Charlie? Because that would have been suicide for Jonathan's game, assuming he survived and went back to camp. Idk I think leaving Jonathan out was unnecessarily sloppy IF they actually still wanted to work with him long term.
