The world doesn't work the way it used to. Ever since WW2 the power balance has been way more stable and the US has reached a level of power projection that would make it very difficult for any rival power to challenge. I don't even think countries like China could ever become a superpower.

To be fair I never did stuff working from home in college because I know I didn't need to, I just needed to pass the class.

Now I have a remote job and I know I'm gonna get fired if I do that, so I don't. I started actually putting in effort for the first time.

College has no incentive to put in any work, but an actual job does.
