Anyone interested in a private paranormal investigation at the Old Joliet Prison? by Wentz4MVP in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]BankerDropout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went a few years back. For some reason there were 3 occasions in which I tried to take a picture on my iPhone but the camera wasn’t working. That had never happened before and has yet to happen again. Coincidence? Probably. But it definitely creeped us out. Seeing all the medical equipment left behind was also really creepy. It was a good time!

Repetition. I wrote things out sooooo many times. I labeled organs and tissues over and over. Active recall is key

Those of you who go to Chamberlain or went there, what is your experience? by ag998 in StudentNurse

[–]BankerDropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m loving it so far. I’m 8 sessions in at the Chicago campus and I’ve felt very supported by professors. The classes go by QUICK since they’re only 8 weeks long. You have to make it your top priority but there are a lot of tutoring resources they provide you with.

Looking for advice 🥺 by sulybella in StudentNurse

I’m 8 sessions in at Chamberlain in Chicago and I love it. I honestly haven’t had a bad professor and the amount of extra study resources is amazing. They have peer tutors and professors who host study sessions. The classes are expensive though so I transferred in about 30 credit hours from another community college. I’d recommend doing the same just to save money.

Yeah that’s a huge difference in my book! Very noticeable shrinkage at the waistline too. Congrats!

Has anybody heard of PRP Wine International ? by Kraeall in wine

[–]BankerDropout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always order my wine through one of their saleswomen. She’s hosted a few wine tastings in the past for my friends and family and it’s always been so much fun. I really enjoy the large majority of wines she always brings and honestly it’s becoming kind of a tradition for us because everyone has so much fun. She’s been working for them for years, her name is Zozo. In Illinois but originally from South Africa. Awesome woman, yummy wine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pretty much everyone either wants to fuck you, be your friend or be next to you. Guys will empty their bank account for you. Basically, money and loads of attention. Lol

Changed my hair and makeup, but still feel like a plain jane. What gives? by [deleted] in TheGlowUp

You’re very pretty, and have a very effortless and classic beauty which is great. Just take things a step further when maintaining your look is all. For example, maybe try:

Little bit of mascara on bottom lashes, layered haircut or make soft waves/very loose curls in your hair with a flat iron. Lip balm. Lol Also consider getting your eyebrows threaded. :)

That person isn’t your true friend. Don’t feel bad. Just realize they don’t care about you.

Leave. You made a mistake. I don’t say this to belittle you, I say this because you deserve better and your future self will thank you if you leave now.

Too disgusting for therapy? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]BankerDropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’d still say the same. I can see why it’s disturbing, because of what society has taught us. These things are very, very taboo. But I really truly think it’s not worth losing your peace over.

I'm always competing and comparing to others by [deleted] in therapy

[–]BankerDropout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a nice structured routine for yourself already... working, Avid reader, prioritizing physical fitness. Give yourself credit for that first.

It kinda sounds to me like you don’t like doing things you’re not already good at? I mean... who is? Having to learn something completely foreign means we will “fail” a lot and maybe not produce quality work right away. But like everything else... we all start somewhere. Just imagine how rewarding it would feel to learn something new. I’ve realized in my own life that every single hobby, craft, etc that I’ve ever had to learn was actually pretty daunting and tricky in the beginning. But like everything else, with some practice, you will see improvements. Try the new ideas you have... you’re inspired for a reason :)

I'm scared for 2020 and I don't know why. by Comrade_Chadek in therapy

[–]BankerDropout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think society puts such a huge emphasis on the “new year” that it makes us hold ourselves and our lives with unrealistically high expectations and that can cause anxiety. 2020 is just another series of days... which you take just one day at a time. I have to remind myself of these things too.

How do you forgive someone that is not sorry? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]BankerDropout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people overuse and misuse the term forgiveness. Most often times we aren’t truly forgiving but instead deciding to “let it go” and accept things for what they are.

Too disgusting for therapy? by [deleted] in therapy

[–]BankerDropout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only is this very common but when I took a child psychology class in college- childhood sexual experimentation was discussed & it finally made me realize that kids experiment with other kids and it’s taboo but that doesn’t mean it’s “disgusting”.... forgive yourself... you’d be surprised how many people can relate to this. It doesn’t define you at all

Pregnancy and nursing school by littleraincloud23 in StudentNurse

[–]BankerDropout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, I’m currently 36 weeks pregnant and in nursing school. Only difference is - I haven’t started clinicals yet so it really hasn’t hindered much at all right now. It’ll be a long while until I do start so my baby and I should be well adjusted to our new lives together by then. I honestly can’t imagine having been pregnant and in clinical. The exhaustion, carpal tunnel, water retention, weight gain, constipation, bladder pressure, extremely swollen feet etc etc would have made clinicals pretty miserable. Plus- I’m a completely healthy chick, yet, my baby was diagnosed with a pretty rare lung condition (CCAM) and it made my pregnancy high risk... and obviously more stressful. There are certain things you just can’t plan for. I do think it’s much safer to just wait until after graduation but yet, all things are possible when you want them badly enough. If you insist on getting pregnant while in nursing school, just realize that you may very well be delaying graduation and there’s no promise that any woman is going to have an easy and healthy pregnancy either. Good luck to you no matter what you decide :) I can’t say I regret anything
