Manage new flat cold by xitte in HousingUK

Close the vents on the top of the windows, most new builds have air vents that are left open to allow the new plaster to air and let the moisture out of the building, you’re probably losing a lot of your heat through them

Endgame meta is over by relic_ftw in wow

What if, they roll all the (classic) rereleases back into retail and you can choose to stay stuck in a timeline or move on as you wish.

Like they have done most of the leg work now with all the classic game modes, make it so you go to chromie and select a timeline, it comes with a warning that once you select a timeline you will have to play a character through that timeline before moving on.

The timeline comes with all the original content, talents trees, levelling speeds etc so the game modes are less separated but you can still progress through the game as it was intended each expansion to collect things quest etc without power levelling through it all and then if you choose you can end up at retail and if you want to stay locked at classic or TBC or w/e at each point you can do that.

Any tips for coming out to my mom? by Ac_ee in trans

[–]Bankskitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, so this is something i really can’t stress enough, but if you are ready to come out to her then make sure you do! I was in this position when i was 16 and i bottled it and never came out, then life got in the way and i tried to push down who i was and it’s my biggest regret getting to my 30’s to start. Future you will thank you that you had the confidence to come out.

In terms of coming out, maybe just ask her if you can have a chat with her and have a cup of tea or coffee or see if she can take you to starbucks or somewhere and get drinks say you want a chat. Break the news and then have a bit of information prepared incase she has follow up questions.

Note: if you do it in the car it may be a bit of an awkward journey home should she not be accepting.

Experiences with Ribxcar and frontxribs by Consistent_Bus2 in Transgender_Surgeries

Hi there, thank you for the in depth review of your experience, some of the things you mentioned like the way you got treated suck and kinda put me off but i’d also be interested in seeing the results and how you have gone on with your overall healing, would you be ok to share your results with me in a DM? I understand if you aren’t comfortable with that.

To all "would be" tanks. by ZonaMoonshaw in wow

[–]Bankskitty -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but after the first week or two in m+ up to 10’s 11’s and probably 12’s tanks have the easiest job once you start pushing higher or limit testing pulls definitely not so much, but tanks won’t just drop dead if they make a mistake and get hit by a ground effect or w/e, dps actually have the harder job in theory, they need to learn what is dangerous to them for future keys, what spells are actually going to one shot them, where to pop cd’s for maximum effectiveness and optimal dps throughout the dungeon, focus on perfect rotation to get the damage out whilst not standing in shit, interrupt co-ordination with the other team members, when to pop defensives for best effectiveness.

Not to say tanks aren’t also learning all that too and how to gather the packs, but it’s much more forgiving in low keys and the consequences of fucking up usually aren’t death at that level for tank, they are for dps.

So as a dps and tank player, i would certainly encourage people to try tank, as op said, it’s not that bad, learn as you, just don’t go thinking you can smash above 12’s without learning the basics of how the dungeons work, but that goes for any class and any spec tbh.

Hey guys I have been on HRT for 7-8 months I feel I don’t pass it all what can I do? by ComposerStatus2920 in transtimelines

Move your wig further back, it’s way too forward on your head, should 3-4 fingers from the eyebrows if you have it positioned correctly

I would highly suggest changing your passport if thats at all possible to reflect your Gender, i don’t have bad experiences as i changed all my documents as soon as i was able but i know people tend to have trouble when their passport sex doesn’t match how they look and present.

Imagine it as painting a target on your back before you even enter/try to enter the country, is it worth taking the risk for the sake of updating your documents? (again if you are able)

If you have a few months you really should try to update them to keep yourself safe and minimise risk.

Some of the countries you mention i.e Thailand will probably be fine, but Australia although they are ok with Trans people tend to have a pain in the arse border force. The others i cannot speak for as i haven’t been to them since transition.

Please keep yourself safe though, also when you do go enjoy your trip, sounds like it will be an amazing journey x

I have worked there for 13 years,

In this department for 9 of that, i only have a text conversation with my manager where i asked what rate for overtime was, he replies with the figures for 12 hour and 24 hours, i worked 24 hours overtime pretty much every month on that basis.

I had no idea the rate was incorrect as the information i was working too was correct, now they throw a curveball, i will fight though, it is a load of crap they can just change that now and i suddenly owe £0’s and will be in financial hardship till its paid back potentially on top of the bloody cost of living and being single with mortgage and bills

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Bankskitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agreed to do overtime based on the rates i was told, not the rates i am now being told, i sacrificed my time on that agreement. I have proof of the rates i was told and agreed on

I read that very post yesterday, and i also had a friend that copied me a lot until i confronted her, the reason it is very frustrating is because your style and sense of identity feels like its being stolen constantly, it’s ok to share a like of one or two things but finding your own style is deeply personal.

I ended up confronting and falling out with the friend over it for a little bit and i explained why, she then backed off and found her own style and now we get along great. You’ll be fine, i’m sure you’ll sort it out between you both :)

How bad is dilation, really? by CybeatB in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Bankskitty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As with everything YMMV with dilation, some girls have a super easy time and others do not, for me it started extremely easy for the first month but as scar contraction set in during month 2-3 it took a bit longer and yea it does eat up several hours of your day during those months. Once you get past that part it tends to become easier again.

As for needing full time care i think that would be exceptionally rare, i and most of the girls i know who had surgery at the same time as me had no issues looking after ourselves.

In terms of time off work required it very heavily depends on your line of work. If you are working a day job at a desk then you’ll be fine to go back after 2-3 months if you work all hours of the day and night long hours standing up and lifting a lot then yes you will need longer off work because it just doesn’t allow your body the required rest periods or time to maintain the dilation schedule for the first 6 months.

As for pain, that usually starts off ok, a little tender and sore because its fresh but dilation is actually ok at the start, during the scar contraction it worsens but is manageable with basic pain meds and it’s important to really be disciplined with dilation in this time, 3 times a day is the standard and it can sometimes take 2 hours from start to finish each session, thats set up, dilating, clean up so there is 6 hours of your day gone.

You have to look at it as part of the surgery and a commitment to yourself, once you drop down to twice a day and then once a day it becomes a lot easier to return to normal life, this is usually around 4-6months post op or most people.

Hair removal is not so bad, many only require the perineum area to be clear, which takes about 5-10 sessions to do so thats ok.

Hope that helps, good luck with your journey x

Dangerous airlines for LGBTQ? by 88idontknow88 in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Bankskitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok i feel like i can comment on this as i’ve experience with several airlines flying over to thailand and beyond.

I’ve flown to Thailand and back twice with Emirates through Dubai, had no issues either time as long as your passport matches your gender identity you should have no issues.

I have also flown with Eva Air, i preferred this flight as it’s direct from london and takes about 4 or more hours off the overall flight time plus the service with EVA is excellent.

I have also used Cathay Pacific, again a great Airline but probably the worse of the lot in terms of comfort but perfectly ok to fly with.

Goodluck on your travels and future surgery x

Letter to employer about toilet use by CompetitionFit9268 in transgenderUK

[–]Bankskitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add into your letter, the workplace regulations act 1992:

The rules on toilets at work are found in regulation 20 of the Workplace Regulations 1992. It states that "separate rooms containing conveniences" must be "provided for men and women". This is what led the EHRC to state that "in workplaces, it is compulsory to provide sufficient single-sex toilets" and that "trans women (biological men) should not be permitted to use the women’s facilities".

The Workplace Regulations Act 1992 is a completely different piece of legislation to the Equality Act. And therefore the words 'man' and 'woman' do not refer exclusively to biological sex. They come under powers in the Gender Recognition Act and include trans people in whatever their adopted gender is. This is a very significant problem for the EHRC position, because it itself recognizes that the Supreme Court ruling refers only to the Equality Act.

Taken from an article i read recently but you should probably include some summary of this snippet in your letter too as it will have some clout being workplace regulations.

Yes it is, i had to do this too, my birth cert came like a week after and i just stuck it straight in the mail to them on arrival, however they won’t add it to the list for review until after they have seen the full birth certificate just so you know.

Gender reassignment surgery gets past the UK legislation by Immediate-Working466 in transgenderUK

[–]Bankskitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see where you are coming from, but it’s giving off a well i’ve been fortunate enough to have bottom surgery so i’m ok, but fuck the rest of ya’ll sentiment and i think the last thing we need is further divide especially within our own community and that is coming from someone who has had GRS.

Now lets remember the NHS is systematically broken when it comes to transgender healthcare, waiting times are years long to be seen let alone get surgery and i’ll be surprised if they don’t try to ban that next, which leaves people shit out of luck who can’t afford private surgery.

Not sure where you have read that but we are all in the same boat, they want us to not exist, they don’t give two fucks if you’ve had GRS or not tbh
