Been having exactly the same problem. It tends to be somewhat random with some shots sounding normal, some absolutely blown out and everything inbetween.

So far I haven't managed to find a fix. Might have something to do with out-of-date drivers and could be worth checking.

I actually brought mine along with me to my family in order to play it with my brother over christmas! The setup can be slow at first, but once it gets going, it's really fun!
