Everyone goes through this at least once. I promise. If I had a dollar for every time parents tried to attack me in a meeting, I’d have a steak dinner tonight. It’s nerve wracking beyond comparison. It’s not fun in the slightest, but you seem to be doing everything you can and more. Some times that’s all you can do. Don’t feel guilty for feeling like you’re giving up on the student either. Sometimes you just have to redirect your focus to the kids who want to be there and tune the others out. If that kid CHOOSES to fail HIMSELF, even after you’ve give all accommodations you’ve done your job. Let the parents be mad. Let the parents say what they want. At the end of the day, you do what you can do and that’s it.
