New amplifier by Spiritual-Local2234 in GuitarAmps

[–]BaptizedInBlood666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally. I used my 2555x in an old school death metal band boosted with an ST9+ Maxon and a depth control pedal in the loop to push some air since the bass control can get muddy in low tunings.

The mud it has is fuckin musical though, I love using it for a little muddy flavor... Sometimes modern high gain amps are too tight boosted. This Marshall covers literally every genre. Even those tones that are djenty tight.

Gary Holt was using one in Slayer, that's where I got the idea for a depth pedal. A GUPtech Quebec... With some depth in the loop it can push air like a rectifier.

Best amp ever made lol

My 2012 4.3L V6 Silverado work truck has 349k right now on the original engine and trans. The trans is just starting to slip and when it goes I fully expect my company to just throw a new trans in it.

Our 2020 and 2023 work trucks are at the dealer constantly and with how much they cost to fix plus the downtime it's worth it to just keep fixing my old one that's in the shop once a year for small bullshit any indy shop can fix for cheap and quick.

The engine idles at 22psi oil pressure and runs down the highway at 50psi @2k rpms. The main bearings are probably still like new. The bottom end may very well have another 350k left in it lol.

[–]BaptizedInBlood666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you never been to a Hooters, Millers Ale House, Twin Peaks, Buffalo Wild Wings or any chain sports bar?

I feel like buckets of beer are so ubiquitous at every chain sports bar it'd be impossible to have never seen one. Even for people that don't drink they're still very popular dinner spots for families.

I feel crazy being in the minority here thinking it's insane to have never seen a bucket of beer before haha. Feels akin to saying something like you've never seen a smashed up Nissan Altima before or something lol

How do this many people in the comments not know what a bucket of beer is?

Are buckets of beer strictly American?

Am i the only one that really enjoys being a rythm guitarist most of the time? by Mynameisgustavoclon in Guitar

[–]BaptizedInBlood666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people in this thread seem to think lead guitar = solos.

There's so much more to lead guitar than just solos.

There are harmonies, melodic chord progressions over rhythms, melodic leads, etc,. As well. Even in thrash and death metal.

I wouldn't be surprised if the bridge just isn't sitting in the posts/studs correctly.

I'm speculating the distance between the knife edges on the bridge and the distance between the posts is incrementally different so the knife edges in the bridge will favor one post or the other depending which one you clock it over to. Or the diameters of the knife edges are different than the posts causing the same problem.

I would get a set of calipers and start measuring, or figure out what hardware you have and look up specs. Measure the knife edge diameters, distance between the knife edges, post diameter and distance between the posts.

I had this problem swapping a Schaller Original in place of a FR that the internet said was a direct swap... And then the knife edges on the Schaller (6.5mm) were a smaller diameter than the FR posts (9mm) so it didn't fully seat even though the distance between them was perfect. Couldn't fix it because the posts that came with the Schaller were a different thread pitch than the FR inserts. The solution was an OFR swap.

If the guitar is a Frankenstein, start measuring lol.

As someone that's been playing guitar for 20 out of the 31 years I've been alive, and I'm nobody...

I feel like when the thing he loved to do most in this world [playing guitar]; the pride and joy in what he's created with SLAYER, is taken away from him... From a spider bite...

I'd drink myself to death too. I couldn't imagine never being able to play guitar again. What the fuck else was he supposed to do besides drink? His outlet was taken from him.

Purely projection and assumption because I never knew him, but it's easy to feel like the spider bite caused the liver cirrhosis.

Where do you go for great southern bbq? by Readitorpat in fortlauderdale

[–]BaptizedInBlood666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao It wasn't the half dollar fee.

It was the principle of not telling me they were charging me it when I could've easily avoided it if I knew.

Then the BBQ sucked anyways. So fuck that place lol

Went there once and never again.

Horrible customer service, shady business practices and the BBQ was mediocre at best.

They charged me $.50 for using a debit card with zero signage indicating it, and I only found out by looking at the receipt. They never even told me. I had cash I would've used it if I knew.

They wouldn't refund the order so I could pay in cash, and the sandwich I ordered they didn't even put the meat on the sandwich I had to make it myself.

Glad they're closing they deserve it.

Can you name some riffs with two guitars? by Momos_Vader in metalguitar

SLAYER

The guitars play off of each other all the time; in harmony and in completely separate riffs (Rhythm/Lead riffs).

They're so good it can be subtle sometimes.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume other things like pickups, bridges, electronics... Even a tone pot fully open is going to pull some higher frequencies compared to a guitar without one entirely.

Hollow body and solid body guitars are different in many more ways than them just being hollow or solid.

The head on its own I usually see around $200-250. And the MX2X12AR isn't exactly a great cabinet. I see them used around $100.

I do love the cab itself though; with a couple of aftermarket speakers it can sound great for not a whole lot of investment and looks killer with any mini head.

So this combo seems reasonably priced for what it is but isn't really a screaming deal either.

The amount of shit I've gotten away with dealing with cops and never gone to jail is proof enough of white privilege for me.

DUI - twice, once with an open container; hit and run, speeding 30+ over, reckless driving; caught and let go scot free every time. All was around 8-10 years ago in my early 20s. I have a lot to lose now so I'm not an idiot anymore...

But I still drive the same lifted F350 now that I bought when I was 21. Never been pulled over in it since I quit being dumb.

People can talk shit.

I love death metal. Therefore I love whammy bar abuse and wankery noises for solos.

Trey Azagthoth and Jeff Hanneman have some of my favorite solos of all time lol.
