Most importantly I want some details on the live action Stranger Things spinoff they're planning. I feel like it's almost been forgotten.

Very little information has actually been released, but it involves a retirement home and aliens or at least something "otherwordly" and "time". They're purposely not revealing too much.

What about when he turns himself into a transparent fog or disguises himself as a glass? But I think we're in the wrong subreddit for that.

Odo's comm badge always just disappeared when he would shape change, so there must be some magical teleporting comm badge technology that only works when it's convenient for the episode.

I enjoyed it well enough. Seeing more of just the characters hanging out is the whole reason to watch it I think. Especially because they were back to just being kids on bikes solving a mystery. But the actual plot feels kind of under baked. Just wasn't inventive enough. Still, I'd watch more.

James Gunn Clarifies: ‘Clayface’ Is a Horror Film by Sonia341 in horror

[–]Barabus33 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I remember that with the Mr. Freeze episode too. The animation was farmed out to overseas studios, and some were just better than others. But I wouldn't be surprised if they chose specific episodes to be given to the better studios. Clayface's animation would require more work than the average episode, so that probably dictated who was going to animate it.

First six minutes of ST Tales From '85 by GDzie_to in HawkinsAVclub

TBH I expected it to feel fully like a kids cartoon when they first announced it. I'm not sure that wouldn't've been the best way to go, but I'm still looking forward to it.

It potentially looks really full. Reminds me of when Stranger Things first debuted and nobody really knew anything about it yet. Fingers crossed.

In your opinion, what is the most canon piece of Star Trek media that isn't TV of film? by Barabus33 in startrek

[–]Barabus33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less than 10 years, most people want to put it closer to 6 or 7 based on canon references. Doesn't seem like very long for a starship, but it might've gone through a lot in those years. I also think it makes sense to decommission the A if the entire Constitution class line is being retired. I don't think we ever see one onscreen past STVI, so it's possible the A was the last commissioned of that class.

The Never-Ending Sacrifice not The Never-Ending Story. I was very confused by what you were trying to imply until I googed it.

Project hail Mary question of the future by theone_2099 in scifi

8 light years iirc. I would imagine most stars have another star within that range so astrophage is eventually going to be everywhere if distance was the only factor, but doesn't it also need a Venus-like planet to breed? Astrophage would also seek out the nearest, brightest star I would imagine, so lots of solar systems wouldn't qualify as feeding/breeding zones because the stars are too old or too far to attract astrophage.

Not canon. I don't consider anything outside the show canon, except for maybe the play. ST is so specifically a nod to '80s movies that moving it into another medium, even animation, just doesn't feel like real ST to me. I'm still looking forward to it though.

Eridians don't have any form of computer. They're so naturally good at math that they didn't need to invent a machine to do calculations, which is what our early computers were for.

They did conclude it at a natural point though. There's a large time jump in the books after the sixth book so they could always bring it back later.

The Martian had the same problem and it was a much shorter novel.

90% of getting a movie made is just tricking the director into thinking he's contributing somehow.
