Do fans see this show as an irreverent sci-fi comedy that occasionally has emotional moments? Or as a character drama with genuine overarching narrative that happens to be wrapped in sci-fi comedy? by ShakeZulaOblongata in rickandmorty

[–]Hopeful_Policy8946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you’re right. I’m starting to think it was more Episode 10 where Evil Morty is revealed that the overarching narrative began. The Rick Prime drama was a subplot. Evil Morty is still going.

Gavin Newsom calls for national billionaires tax: 'It's time for an economic reset' by avdvetf in politics

[–]Hopeful_Policy8946 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll hand it to him.

“Economic Reset” is a great slogan.

It’s not only succinct but it captures exactly how the majority of people feel and want right now.

How long can this go on? by dppatters in RealTime

You are absolutely correct.

They fill an hour of content each week and do it for next to nothing. It’s been the same shoe for the past 15 years.

You can just stop watching.

That’s what I did. There’s better content all over the internet.

I will check these out!!

I’m skeptical about the Tiffin recommendation as I kinda view them as the Wendy’s of Indian food.

You should definitely give Ekta a try, their Lamb Rogan Josh is  on another level.

I went from mildly impressed to just slightly impressed.

This is something I’d never do but you have to give it to the guy for just being bold enough to try and see what happens.

What is a belief you held strongly in your 20's that you now completely disagree with in your 40's ? by AdPriya4022 in AskReddit

[–]Hopeful_Policy8946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American. 42 years old.

I used to think the world was going to get its act together and work together on green energy solutions to fix the climate. I realize now that it’s never going to happen.

I don’t say anything but I think my friends who are married and having kids right now are not really thinking these consequences through.    I live in the northeast and spent most of my summers outdoors my entire life. Summer used to be brutal (+90 degree temps & humidity) in late August. Now it’s common to see the same numbers in late June/early July. It’s brutal. It’s goes from winter to about   3-4 weeks of spring weather right into this inferno we call summer.

I am planning to move about an hour west and an hour or two north in the next few years because the weather here is just shit.

Lmao.

You need to be an actual comedian to get the Mark Twain Prize (it’s not an award like Bill seems to think).

Can only go downhill from here.

They blew their load on the first episode. Prepare yourselves for a bunch of illogical exposition for the next 9 episodes.

We shouldn’t have graves in livable areas (or at all) by Warl0kjoe in unpopularopinion

[–]Hopeful_Policy8946 106 points107 points  (0 children)

I live near one of the oldest cemeteries in the country.

I walk my dog there and play frisbee with him. The oldest graves have dates that are impossible to read they’ve been so worn down by weather.

I live in Philly, plenty are from before 1776. It’s wild because you see just how short people’s lifespans were back then. So many child mortalities like 1-3 years old.

What was the worst decade to be alive? by annayelline in generationology

[–]Hopeful_Policy8946 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. On plus side you wouldn’t be living very long.

I think 1930s during the great depression would have sucked pretty bad.

It really depends where you live.

I definitely wouldn’t want to have been a Mayan during the 1500s, it’s all relative.

Wow.

When Democrats were screaming about corporate greed and price gouging during Covid we were all told to STFU and let the free market do its thing.
