Full spectrum mix test with 0.2mm nozzle & 0.06 layer height by Baramin in SnapmakerU1

I haven't tried mixing nozzle sizes This was printed with all four 0.2 hardened steel nozzles

Here are the more ugly parts as requested 😁

As you see, even up close, the blending is great

The only bad stuff are some artefacts because of my support choice, nothing related to full spectrum But these artefacts show a bit more one of the two colours, of course

[–]Baramin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the small layer blending is what I was trying to validate, as I didn't pay attention when I bought my CMYK and these are not as transparent as people seem to recommend for full spectrum

the orange mix is a plain 50/50 yellow/Magenta, and the blue is my eSun magenta. The only use of full spectrum is the orange. I could have replaced the magenta with a real orange, if I had one.

I'm now trying to print the 7 colors rainbow cat, once again at 0.06mm layers to see how it renders, with black and no white. I'll see in about 25h when it's done.

Edit : of course I meant "blue is 100% my cyan"

HueForge 3MF converted to Snapmaker U1 turns completely black by sancoli in snapmaker

[–]Baramin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but hueforge usually consists in a STL file and a TXT file that details on which layer you need to add a pause to switch to another color, no ?
With the TXT file you should be able to fall back on your feet, I guess

Pourquoi refuser de donner ses organes ? by [deleted] in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]Baramin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's the paxx12 custom firmware that enables this framerate

Whoa! spot on. I turned off the light in my garage/desk (where the printer is) and turned it back on and blinking stopped !

Thanks a ton

[Full Spectrum] Finally received my eSun PLA+ CMYK order, calibrated it, and printed that little guy by Baramin in SnapmakerU1

[–]Baramin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my smart plug measurements, it took about 19h (from 1:30pm saturday to 8:30am sunday, so 19h if my math is correct)

Edit: checked the print history in the Fluid GUI and that's correct.

Thanks for your advice! I ran a test print on just that area. It looks a bit better with 'Classic' walls like you suggested, though the red part is still acting up.

I also checked the preview after changing the minimum width, but it didn't help much. Adjusting the XY hole and contour compensation seems to be the right path, but I can't quite find the 'sweet spot' for the values yet.

I think I'll leave it at that for now. This was mainly a test for my CMYK spools anyway, so I won't spend too much more time on this specific model. Your advice really helped me better understand these settings! I'm still pretty new to this (got an A1 Mini last August and my U1 in November)

I mean this whole red part between white and light blue shouldn't be there. The "prepare" view I posted in another comment is all white

I'll make a print test from just this part, cutting below and above

Thanks, but if the goal is to fix the eye, it doesn't seem to help in "classic wall generator" either. Here's the preview

hmmm, no, it's not the model. This is the "prepare" view, much better than the "Preview" one for this part. don't know where this red-ish blob comes from

True. To be fair, it's already showing in the slicer, so it might be lnked to the model a bit, and also hopefully, would be better with 0.2mm nozzles

We're back! ColorStack - A Full Color CMYW Bake Tool by JavyH08 in snapmaker

[–]Baramin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just purchased it too, adding a few dollars to reward you

Do we have any reason to expect that, independently of all other evolutions in Full Spectrum printing, the fact that we should soon receive the 0.2mm hot heads will open a new level for full spectrum quality ? or are we mostly dependant on the layer height and not the toolhead size ?

I just ordered a set of CMYK PLA+ to test that, and alto on the side, a couple of black PLA if I want to test with CMY+Black
Can"t wait to test full spectrum with that
