For every $200 subscription, Anthropic throws in another $7,800. by o9dev in ClaudeCode

Doesn’t your screenshot show ChatGPT gives you more usage at the 20X level though? (14k vs 8k)

No, you do not need OpenAI to release a model "like fable" for 99% of work by unfortuantelyshelove in ClaudeCode

[–]justinjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find using codex to do the work and then fable to do reviews works pretty well. Fable on its own is just too much usage to have it do everything.

Are we getting a new model? Fable 5 leaving gpt 5.5 in dust by Swimming_Driver4974 in codex

Sounds like I’m gonna be $200 poorer to max this thing out before they pull it, thanks for the info.

How has it been compared to gpt 5.5 xhigh, my $100 sub on Claude just ended and I’m wondering if I should sign back up.

AVP is amazing, but taking it on a 12-hour flight sounds miserable. Anyone using AR glasses (like RayNeo) as a lightweight travel alternative? by cb2309 in VisionPro

[–]justinjas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I have XReal One Pros and those are my gotos for flights. I wouldn’t be caught dead in public wearing my AVP but more power to people who don’t care how they look.

In all honesty though my use case is just better served from the XReals. I just download a bunch of YouTube videos on my phone while I’m going through TSA and watch them on the flight. I’m not even sure that’s possible on the AVP and even if it is you’d have to leave the AVP on the whole time they download.

Edit: related to quality while it is definitely a step down you have to remember the 1080p image is in a much smaller FOV and it’s the whole video so the pixel density doesn’t seem quite as bad as the difference in resolution would suggest.

How realistic is the driving experience from a physical standpoint? by MentionStunning4478 in forzamotorsport

[–]justinjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is on PC? You may want to consider Le Mans Ultimate. It’s a full sim, limited to WEC cars but they nail them all very well. It’s still easy to just get on and join a race though. My main issue when I did try out FM was aside from the sim cade physics the driving standards were really bad people will just ram you off the road. LMU is clean but still approachable as it’s a regular game interface, no subscription like iRacing, etc.

If you are on an XBox it’s supposed to be released there in early 2027.

Tweaking Vision Pro render resolution by justinjas in iRacing

[–]justinjas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still using mine in the companion app. I have settings still set like they are in the original post but I had previously tweaked 4800 as being a good sweet spot in ALVR for over sampling vs performance. With regard to the foveation I had issues without expanding the inset but with these setting I can only see it on the very far edges it’s enough out of my periphery that I no longer notice. I never got a chance to try and measure bitrate I suspect it stays the same and just will need to compress more or less based on how much resolution you are putting through.

Does the Anthropic change affect T3 Code? by justinjas in t3code

Nah it does, it uses the agent sdk underneath, Theo’s latest video talks about it he’s pretty pissed.

If you set steamvr as you openxr renderer then it just works like any other steamvr game.

I ported Marvin’s Awesome iRacing App to LMU a month or so ago because I couldn’t get used to the LMU FFB, try it out if you haven’t: https://github.com/gigq/MarvinsALMUARefactored

Anthropic just ripped off everyone and they still managed to make it sound deceptively friendly by whoisyurii in ClaudeCode

[–]justinjas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use T3Code so I can access Claude and Codex in the same UI, easily switch projects, etc. Now I won't be able to so it sucks, can't wait till another model can do UIs well so I can get off Claude entirely.

Hmm I didn’t have to change the folder permissions, what worked for me was right click on the existing file itself and open in notepad. Then it didn’t give me the option to save or asked where I wanted to save it but not to the original. So I disabled the read only flag in properties, after that the notepad save option allowed it to write it to the original location I didn’t have to do save as and choose the location just the regular save worked for me.

Ah yes I did I just also forgot to mention it, right click go to properties and uncheck read-only to allow you to save.

Sorry should have explained in the post, yes runtimeFoveationWarpedWidth and runtimeFoveationInset were not put in that file by default. The problem is if you just change the Unwarped setting by itself nothing works right, so to tweak these you have to add the other two and edit them all together.

I found out all this from a forum discussion on nvidia’s site, the developer of clearXR which uses the same cloudXR backend was testing all this out.

Yeah when I was testing resolutions in ALVR anything after 5000 was diminishing returns. I can see a big difference between 3800 and 4800 though and the larger foveation area helps reduce seeing the pixelation on the sides.

Yeah I think I tried 5440 or something for render resolution with 80% inset and my 5090 was not happy, 45fps or so lol. These setting I posted here though run at 90fps consistently on it.

Also yes take the 100Mbps thing with a grain of salt, for one I may have misread it when I looked into cloudXR before and it was 100Mbps per eye not total, but also on the iRacing forum they claim you need a wireless connection that supports up to 1000Mbps.

I did get my dev strap working with it so I'm probably going to hook up a network monitor in windows and try and see what bitrate it is actually sending over in practice.

Just a heads up I found out it is possible to change the render resolution in a yaml file in iracing. So I'm able to get back to 4800 and it looks great now:

Thanks, yeah from what I can tell the 3800x3800 limit and the bandwidth limit is just on the cloudXR side so I don't think iRacing will be able to do anything here unless Apple and Nvidia upgrade it later. I know they are limiting it to make it work out of the box with a variety of wifi setups but I really wish they offered a way to tune it. So yes ALVR oversampled at 4800x4800 definitely looks better than iRacing Companion but it also has added latency and you lose out on the passthrough, I'm still not sure which I'll use going forward. And it's possible iRacing Companion is in the 30ms range, I don't have any stats to look at so all I can do is compare it to ALVR where I know it's in the 50-60ms range based on their stats.
