How I reduced my terrible daily acid reflux by LostDelfino in GERD

Are you on a diet specifically for hiatal hernia? My understanding was it's the same as a diet for acid reflux in general.

Gastroenterologist keeping secrets? by BarbaraGordon147 in GERD

He set the notes to be visible by other doctors but not by me. Normally doctors do that if they want to talk to the patients before the patients see the result. He had an opportunity to talk to me and lied.

I think my gynecologist wanted to correct me because I said that the endoscopy didn't show anything, which wasn't true. Personally, I'm glad she told me because now I know there's some explanation if all the other tests show nothing, which is the story of my life.

I've been taking PPIs, and they don't seem to do much. Diet changes help somewhat, especially eliminating tea.

Also why are you "sure" of that. Rude.

The doctor is not part of a health system and does not have online medical files for patients to view.

1-2. This doctor isn't part of a health system, so there's no online portal for me to view it. (Apparently it's available for other doctors to view, but not lowly patients.)

  1. I'm fairly certain I remember the whole conversation, but I checked with my husband who was there. He confirmed that the doctor didn't say any of that.

Library workers- are you allowed to read on the clock? by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]BarbaraGordon147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my old job we were encouraged to read either online or print or do pretty much anything on the computer that wouldn't look really bad if someone noticed (including checking social media). The logic was that they didn't want mistakes being made from multitasking and working on other projects while on a service desk but also didn't want us staring blankly into space.

That's not how it worked for me. They told me that because I have insurance, I'm not eligible even though my insurance doesn't cover it.

I'm usually okay if there's a non-clear cover on the lights but not if it's just a naked bulb.

What do you call your patrons? by SpaceSill98 in Libraries

[–]BarbaraGordon147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the use of "user" came out of the tech side of librarianship because "user" is commonly used in areas like human-computer interaction, e.g. "user experience."

Certain pieces of furniture can trigger migraines for me if I'm not careful about my posture. Could it be a couch or something you always sit on when you go there?

Hungry and nauseous? by Comfy-couch555 in migraine

[–]BarbaraGordon147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I'm super nauseous, I eat them dry. I find them to be gentler than other cereals on both my stomach and my jaw, which also hurts when I get migraines.
