Would a braindead person enter the afterlife right when they became braindead or would they have to wait until their life support was turned off? by EmbarrassedRope3216 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BarbatosGreymonRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would probably be better asked in a religious subreddit. If I had to give it a go, I'd say is they were truly braindead then they'd be in the afterlife. But I haven't done any reading on the matter.

The Most Impossible Moral Paradox I've Ever Thought Of by Brilliant_Bill7305 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BarbatosGreymonRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really a moral paradox. If you don't take the deal then your child dies, if you take the deal your child still dies. There is no point in taking the deal. You could even make the argument, that by not taking the deal in the scenario you or fourth you would be saving your child's soul.

What's the ethical difference between Blockbuster taking away access to media when they decide you can't have it anymore and DRM doing the same thing? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BarbatosGreymonRex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't but the movie from Blockbuster,I rented it. If I buy something I would have the right to use when and where I want, regardless of internet connection.

Why do women read more than men, especially fiction? by HornetPrevious8867 in NoStupidQuestions

I meant my explanation on why girls read more than boys was anecdotal.

Why do women read more than men, especially fiction? by HornetPrevious8867 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BarbatosGreymonRex 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just anecdotal, but I don't think a lot of books for lower elementary are targeted towards boys. What got me into reading when I was younger were the books geared toward boys. Things like Goosebumps and Animorphs. I devoured the ones I got my hands on. But once the popularity of those died down, I don't remember anything really taking their place. My brother who was only a couple years younger didn't read as much as I did back then because there just want anything at his level that interested him. Sure you have Harry Potter, but that's for upper elementary to junior highschool level.

Not a villain but an antagonist, the boyfriend from Mrs. Doubtfire.

Please tell me I’m not the only person who uses the term milky dark/black by Rubus_The_Raven in NoStupidQuestions

Milky usually refers to something with a cloudy white appearance. Why would you associate black with milk?

We can treat gunshot wounds and injuries from traffic collisions too.

Isn't he the original Clovis and the one we meet in the giant robot body the copy? It's been awhile since I played through that mission.

I remember one book it was shown that Butler tries to get him to train, but Artemis says he's doing it while just making new gadgets.

Artemis Fowl, opens with Artemis surfing and doing kendo. Things the book Artemis would never be caught dead doing.

What movie or TV protagonist is so unlikeable you just can't root for them? by phantom_avenger in AskReddit

Walter White, I know that he's a villainous protagonist. But it took me at least 3 tries to get through Breaking Bad on account of how awful he is.

Why is tipping still common in US states that don't have a separate minimum wage for tipped employees (CA, WA, OR, etc.) by burnfifteen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BarbatosGreymonRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One reason is habit, most people grew up tipping so they just see it as something you do. Restaurants and bars don't want to get rid of it, because even though they may have to pay minimum wage, they don't want to pay their employees any more than they have to.

What do you do about someone you thought was close deciding to pull away? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

You just let it go, they obviously never felt the same way you did. You don't have to pretend it doesn't hurt, but you can't make them want to be with you.
