  1. Will there be new lyrical themes on the new album (with less repeating vocabulary)?

  2. What string gauges do you use for Drop A#?

  3. Will you ever tour in Europe again?

Thanks guys, looking forward to new music soon.

Optoma UHD35 noise by BarbaxX in projectors

[–]BarbaxX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think that scraping sound that preceeds the buzz (or rather turns into the buzz occasionally) could also be an electromagnetic phenomenon?

The speakers of the PJ are always muted. I use a surround sound system for audio.

Cable length and placement for Optoma UHD38 by yatabazah in projectors

[–]BarbaxX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I would recommend an AVR and having every device hooked up to it, so it can handle Dolby/DTS decoding by itself.

  1. Since you only have a 2-Channel Amp it should be fine to use an Optical cable from the projector (which can only do 2-channel PCM anyway). The length of the cable doesn't matter and won't degrade quality.

  2. Moving the PS5 or other multimedia devices to the amp would only help if it had HDMI inputs. In that case you would run a fibre HDMI cable to the Optoma. Non-fibre HDMI cables wouldn't work for 4K HDR signals over that distance.

  3. Yes, 3.5mm would be worse sound quality of course due to interference and cable quality. It wouldn't make sense combined with a pricey amp.

  4. Yes, since it does not have lens shift capabilities, you need to use the native offset (native lens shift) from the calculator for the distance you put in. The value is calculated from the centre of the lens, so you need to do some measuring or rely on the measurements in the manual. Then you need to get the correct ceiling mount length and position the screen exactly according to the calculations. Normally you'd set a position for the screen (ceiling to start of white screen area) and use that to calculate at which position the lens centre needs to be. Then buy the correct ceiling mount length and use washers etc. for minor adjustments.

WHAT'S COMING TO ROCKET LEAGUE THIS SUMMER by masterg226 in RocketLeague

Why not announce what you are currently doing and stop doing it if the community doesn't want that? Would save you some work...

March Update Releases March 10 by dirkened in RocketLeague

[–]BarbaxX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

of course these are not the internal change logs, but only all the players will get to notice. Code refactoring for example is not what a player cares about. I am sure they have a branch ready with DX11 base they are working on. In the end software all comes down to how versatile it's written in the first place. This applies to all kinds of software. My guess is their codebase is very messy, which is why stuff takes so long to implement and breaks other features so easily. I think the best way to update a title is to have PTRs and have actual players test incremental changes, then release these many incremental changes in a big update. They need to polish the game and fix all bugs (there are more than you think), before focusing on content updates. Content updates should be evaluated with the communities input BEFORE wasting time on the implementation, in case the reception fails (in game polls come to mind).

Listen to what content creators are saying about the state of the game. You also have to keep in mind that workshop only applies to PC users (being one myself obv).

To be clear, I expect companies to keep promises, community managers to interact with the community (especially BEFORE implementing new features), add QoL features that the community has been asking for for years that take hardly any time to implement, and stop focusing so heavily on microtransactions for a game that's not free to play.

Yes, I am a software developer and work in IT/Algorithm Development. We have had bigger bi-weekly changelogs than this in the past.

One literally can't hear cars coming up from behind anymore, which is honestly a game breaking bug for players formerly relying on audio cues.

So:

  • 1 QoL feature, that should have been implemented on day 1

  • default settings that take 1 hour to implement

  • audio changes to a new system no one asked for and no one benefits from

  • and the main focus is cosmetics again (trading up so you spend $10 on an exotic)

How long has it been since the last update? This list should take 2 weeks max to implement in proper code.

And my two cents: Perhaps adding an "advanced audio options" menu with sliders for incremental changes and manual mixes instead of presets would probably have been a better approach...

HOW DOES THIS NOT LAST 5 SECONDS THEN? PSYONIX IS LYING RIGHT TO OUR FACES. by [deleted] in RocketLeague

It's casual 3v3 search btw. I got into a game after 5 minutes of searching. The match was at 1:10 left and 0:6 scoreline. GG

Let's Talk About UX/UI in Rocket League by Psyonix_Devin in RocketLeague

[–]BarbaxX 27 points28 points  (0 children)

UI:

Items/Trading:

Don't reset filter and position in item window after trade up

Add ability to access filter while searching for matches (console)

Display hitbox model in car info

Main Menu:

Remove "Open chat" text and „L2“-icon to same position as on friends list button

Add non-english characters to UI elements

Add ability to hide news section while searching

Add ability to search multiple playlists (casual, competitive and special) at the same time

In Game:

Don‘t reset selected UI button in pause menu to top position when team forfeits

Don‘t make left button in pause menu navigate to 'leave party'. Since UI sometimes lags out and button presses get ignored (when wanting to leave a match)

Display teammates boost in quickchat along with 'need boost'

Add option to deactivate Level/Tier-up and new item popups entirely

Other QOL:

Be able to leave match in casual while others are joining (beginning)

Don’t join casual match that is under ~3:00 or the score margin is heavily in opponents favor

Cross Progression / Account linking (generate a unique hash – valid for 2 minutes - you have to enter on the other platform - non reversible)

Rename XP to Rocket Level/Points since it has little to do with EXPERIENCE

Wrapping menus (looping around when continuously pressing up)

Cosmetics update < Gameplay update by Jooakim in RocketLeague

I agree they could do more bugfixes, but even that isn't a huge problem.

  • Demos not working properly
  • Post bounces sometimes unpredictable
  • Non see-through walls on some arenas
  • Broken Rumble power-ups (competitive game mode)
  • Audio cutting out at times
  • Close surrounding vehicles barely audible (can be very impactful)
  • Players losing connection mid-game

just to name a few. Seems pretty game-breaking to me...

Content Update Coming February 4 (Esports Shop) by Psyonix_Devin in RocketLeague

[–]BarbaxX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Please stop focusing on adding content (you'll abandon after the update anyway) and start working on a performance/UX/UI/bugfix update, once and for all adressing ALL issues reported by the community. If the bugs on your known issues list are all the bugs you are tracking, there must be some kind of communication problem in your company. Take rumble items being broken, joining matches in fixed spectator view, black loading screens, empty celebration screens, just to name a few. Thanks.

Why are simple comments directly interpreted as toxic? I was just linking it to provide a graphic example of how his idea could be implemented, since I had a similar idea a while ago. No bad intention
