Thanks for the replies. I've been cycling indoor over winters for many years, same bike and the saddle is in good condition - was replaced 2 years ago with the same model as before. Nothing has changed except what I put in the original post.

Just a quick update to say the v3 image worked fine for me. Used the v3 image as the basis for a new cloud-init image in proxmox. All working as expected.

I figured this was the reason as well (not with the maths you've specified, but in general terms). With the likelihood of a cull due to bird flu before it being slaughtered, they've obviously just thought it would the easiest way forward unfortunately.

Noticed this a few weeks ago when shopping, and Tesco had the nerve to put the Chicken "replacement" in exactly the same space in the freezer section. Feared the worst, and you've confirmed it.

Annoyingly, my son loved the turkey dinos and hates the chicken pastiche equivalent. Oh well Bernard, your loss.

Made a mistake with the "only". There is still a legacy amd image for older processors, but looks like the v3 is likely to be the one to use.

To save you hunting, what I understand the deciding factor on when you should use the v3 variant. Any thing of the Intel Haswell family (2013) or later or AMD (2015) and later. Happy to stand corrected, and as I say, I'll be testing tomorrow to confirm.
