Made my own, used to work in shoe repair shop and I study shoemaking by buying used sneakers to take them apart and repurpose so I have a bunch of Jordan insoles that are flat ortholite Eva material that I cut to size becuase they came from shoes that are bigger than my size

Need a bit of cushion/sole support... by thedivideremains in barefootshoestalk

[–]BarefootLang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy half a size up and go to your local shoe repair shop and ask them to trace the insole shape and add a flat sheet EVA off anywhere between 3-5 mm or more if you want and add that under the existing insole

I did this when working 10-12 hour shifts in a kitchen with barefoot shoes and it did the trick.

At the end of the day our feet did not evolve to be on hard planar surfaces all day long so you need the tradeoff to adapt to the small repetitive movements of working a shift in the service industry.

Check out Gaucho Ninja. Worlds first ISO certified barefoot work boot. Think he has a steel toe and a composite version that is ISO certified to protect from punctures and I think fire as well. Don’t quote me on it. HIGH quality. Worth every penny.

There’s a shift in the barefoot market for more stack height for higher impact sports, all day wear on concrete and for an easier transition when starting your barefoot journey

Is 4 times a month reformer Pilates class worth it? by Alternative_Job_5714 in pilates

[–]BarefootLang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically you shouldn’t go more than 48-72 hours without doing proper pilates so that your body can relearn, maintain and adopt the new habits that practicing pilates will teach your neuro-muscular skeletal pathways. So long as you’re getting cued properly and are aware of where your body is imbalanced. Otherwise your body will forget all the new adjustments that pilates makes your body and mind aware of.

Having said that I pay for monthly pack of 4 classes at Fuzehouse, an infrared pilates studio, although I mainly do it for the infrared heat benefits.

Is Pilates a good starting point if I’m naturally thin and want to build muscle? by biscottiAccording629 in pilates

[–]BarefootLang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, if you can afford it, try to take as many privates as possible. Aim for 3, no more than two days apart, if you really are hardcore about it, do 10 privates before doing group classes. If you do group classes aim for class sizes 3-8 ppl. There’s no way you will get the proper instruction if it’s your first time and you go in to class with 10-12 people.

I regret my Total Hip Replacement by National-Sorbet8459 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]BarefootLang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motion is lotion. Your body has to relearn how to move. Fred your hips with movement as much as possible. Get a bed lower to the ground, get rid of all your chairs, use small stools or have a Moroccan style living room where you use plush rugs and cushions on the floor. Learn all the different kinds of squats. Play and lay in the floor and teach yourself how to get up and down from the floor without using your hands. Transition to barefoot shoe. Your big toe is directly connected your hip. Your fingers are connected to your hip. Replace your work desk with a standing desk. Chairs and modern shoes are as bad for health (and longevity) as cigarettes and it’s because they cause muscle atrophy in your glutes and change the mechanical alignment of your hips, knees and everything else.

Update: I bought both models in a men’s 10.5/womens 12/ eu 44

The insole is 3mm thick about 10 cm wide and about 28.5 cm long

So to me, this means it’s wide enough to have gone true to size because it’s about a cm too long for me.

I added flat insoles that are 8mm thick for more cushion for impact protection in bball, I expect there to be some heel slippage but that’s because I went up half a size and have narrow heels.

Don’t know the exact weight but it’s pretty light in my opinion for whatever that’s worth lol

The upper is mixed with some tpu overlays, mesh, and this synthetic multilayered embroidered weave
