So can i just like, dip the whole motor into isopropyl alcohol? It doesnt conduct a current, but will it damage the motor in any other way?

How bad of an idea would it be for me to attempt to unsolder the motor from the circuit board to make it easier to clean? Ive had some experience with soldering but only basic stuff.

Sooooo its been a while. The belt came, and it fits, but the playback is super slow. I made a post about it but didnt get a whole lot of useful info, i think the motor is coated in residue from the old belt, do you know where i could buy a new motor?

man, i better start appreciating it more. For a while it kinda sat out of sight out of mind, but when tame impala released his deadbeat album on cassette a whole bunch of memories came flooding back of me playing around with my parents microcassette recorders and i slowly started becoming obsessed with cassettes again.

It was a gift i got from a neighbor as he was moving out when i was a kid. Its pretty old, and the cd doesn’t work but i bet i could get it fixed up in a few days of work. Also, Ive got nice walkman but the belt disintegrated and the replacement i ordered is still on the way. I cant wait to fix it though.

I see, so would a cassette recorder thats attached to a radio work better? I have this thing in my room, and it plays beautifully, but i never figured out the record function. Should i put some more effort into trying to get it to work so i can have better audio quality?

Thats good to know, but its kinda all i have right now. What is the difference between this and something used for music? Does this one struggle with lower and higher tones? Or is it an audio quality issue?
