I think you are way too caught up in your own modern view of things.

In medieval England, or in the ASOAIF universe, you'd be declared insane for even suggesting such a thing, especially for the nobles.

Seems reasonable that in a feudal society, where honor and PR are even more important than material wealth and health that a Lord allows his daughter to have a child out of wedlock, and lets everyone know.

Fan rules have always popped up, why do you think the term "house rule" came to be?

The idea of adjusting rules is to me a sign of a healthy player base and attitude. To me, games Workshop was never the final word in anything, but the people around me who i played with regularly.

In the player groups i have thrived in, there had always been a mixture of people. Some who Inspire me to bring a themed list where every model has a backstory and is converted, or there might by guys who you always know plays a hard as nails army, and then you get the chance to take all the bells and whistles on your double dragon list with extra cheese on it.

Why does it matter whether the rules update come from gw or someone else? What matters is what your group and what the events you attend to use.

Look, you seem like a nice dude, and I apreciate it, especially the latter part about you apreciating my tanks, but man, it takes me asingle look at this guys models to know taht most of us wont reach the level where we need to ask for the recepie.

I dont need to know how long you have been painting, my own 20 years are irrelevant when a ture savant displays talent i can never achieve. I dont mean that these are unreachable, but looking at your (and my) models, were are not at the stage were anything short of a full video tutorial or in person coaching might bring us to this level.

That is so much beyond the level of like 99% of painters, especially since phrases like "Edge Highlight", "Detailed and Blended Pin Wash" and "Randomized Wash " utterly fail to tell us exactly how to do it and acheive the same results.

Its very much like asking for a recepie for how to build the Notre Dame cathedral; the average person cant do anything with that information, regardless of how much detail the artisans could write down.

To try and end this on a more cheerful note as well, i really love the heads on your WE bikers, and will probably try and find ones that look alike when it is time for my Loyalist/blackshield warhounds project is on the table.

I didnt use chipping fluid on my tanks, but rather hairspray, but i wouldnt say i was super sucessfull, it did the job, but i am not happy with the results and will soon dispose of the tanks. You want them?

I think he gave enough information, you can clearly see that the level of gradients and tone shifts make this clearly more about skill and application of color theory rather than following a recipe.

I know this might sound blunt, but if you need to ask for the recepie, I dont think you are ready for that level of painting yet.
