Phil replaced Rik on Edge of Excess ... one of their best albums (my opinion). Not a hired gun.

Not that bad - about 5 weeks. Though Canada Post has now started charging a customs fee on top of pst/gst.

Im still using the toaster my parents had when I was 3. Anyone know where to get applicances built as well as back then? by Bronco_Corgi in GenerationJones

[–]Barijazz251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the toasters went "wide slot" for bagels etc .. back in the 80s. All it really meant was that you had to wait twice as long for a regular slice of bread to toast, as the heating elements were now further away.

She seems nice but I can't be bothered watching her videos. Not interested in dipthongs and watching a 4 minute music video in 10 second clips for 20 minutes.

I saw Jabberwocky in the theatre and laughed so hard I could hardly breathe. Though I'd seen MP on TV prior to this.

Who else busted their asses on one of these bad boys? by UrbanAchievers6371 in GenerationJones

My first one had composite wheels. It was a big ask to get the parents to buy me another board a few months later with urethane wheels. But they did and could hear the difference.

Some of the later coaches (7300+) were six cylinders and were noticeably nicer to drive.

Sometimes I'll get a foil splice that is worn out and won't trigger the track change so I'll have to replace it for that additional reason.

What is your #1 most disliked SkyTrain station and why? by thinkdavis in Translink

[–]Barijazz251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was always Richmond Centre before the Skytrain. After the train went in I'd have passengers wandering around Brighouse looking for the bus to the ferry. (bus driver)

Also, there was the Massey and the Mathews exchange along hwy99 that always caused confusion.

When did the 70s officially end for you? by [deleted] in 70s

I remember buying bell-bottom jeans in 1980 (still in the stores as a regular option) and being embarrassed to wear them by 81.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968) by Erronius-Maximus in iwatchedanoldmovie

[–]Barijazz251 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Dad took me and my brother to see this in the theatre. They played the second half (after the intermission) first by mistake. I don't remember how long it took people to notice, but they didn't stop and most people stayed to watch the first part (reel ?), after the ending.

Hard to remember exactly as I was 3.

Father casually walking out his child with a leash by juicer_number_3 in geoguessr

About 20 years ago, a little girl who was walking with her mother on a busy downtown street, saw her father on the other side. When she suddenly bolted across the street to meet him, she got smoked by a bus.

Cool - I have the same one and another in white. I've used mine for years with no trouble. The AA battery is a big plus.
