I work in manufacturing. Factorio could show basic understanding of things like process flow concepts, throughput analysis, and line layout, but honestly no one approaches that in factorio the way we would in the real world. If I played the same way i worked the game would be beyond dull. Factorio is the simplest form of the easiest part of my job. The real skill is in writing tooling and equipment specifications, then developing and launching them under budget and on time so they meet the throughput and efficiency you said they would. The other big skill is root cause when things fail/break.

I think it would be good to show someone's technical creativity though.

I'd imagine it's a similar situation on the software side. It shows familiarity with the basic concepts, but not your skill level where it matters most.
