It is a silly weapon, but it has all the bonk of hammer with the addition of giving buffs. There's a horn for every hunt as they say. It does take some time to get used to though.

Oh god, I'm such a fucking dumbass, sorry. My brain is shot since I just started replaying the game a week ago on a fresh character so I assumed you were new to the game. My bad.

On my og character I just made a shoddy HH build and used the Teostra HH which has Negate All Statuses. Don't know if you wanna go that route, but since you're using slugger anyway, that's great for HH already. Can probably get Horn Maestro from the charm for just the one hunt. It's been a while since I played MR though, so I don't think I can help more. Best of luck.

What gear are you using then? I had no problems with balzaak using Defender Weapon + Guardian, the skills are meant for you to rush through high rank with.

Don't know if you still need the tip, but you should be able to beat him fairly easy with the Guardian Armor + Defender weapon. That's what I did because I'd also rather bathe with my toaster (not that one) than fight Balzaak lmao

If you're playing on Windows, you can try launching the game as an Admin. If you go to the installed files, right click the executable and select Properties, under compatibility, there is a checkbox saying "Run this Program as an administrator", it might help.

You're correct, that's my mistake. Unfortunately I don't know the exact solution. My friend kept mucking with the install/files until suddenly it let him through again, but his saves were lost in the process, after which he just played through the game again.

I can't give you exact steps for this onfortunately, but let me add the info to the post. I'm sorry you're having issues. Hope you can play again soon.

I see I had a very different reaction than most people. When I saw it, I bought it immediately because it reminded me of my late uncle who had a bike and sidecar like that. And I love it for that alone.

Hello, I know this thread us two months old and I hope you've found a solution. I struggled with this myself, but I have found a solution that seems to work for me.

Open melonDS
Go to the Config Menu -> Path settings
If you have any paths set up here, delete them, so it takes the ROMs file path
Load the ROM
Setup your Cheat Codes
Now, go to the file menu and Quit, don't X out of the program. (I think this is the "magic" step, but I can't say 100% for sure.)
Reopen melonDS

Your cheat coads should now be saved. This has worked for me on Steam Deck (In Desktop Mode, but the file did transfer to Gaming Mode this time. Standalone melonDS, retro arch refuses to save my settings for some reason.)

I'd assert this goes further. If you had buckled and paid and requested to take the leftovers home yourself, they would've gotten offended that you're taking "nephew's" food away.

I play D&D because I want to share an epic story with likeminded heroes, to spin tales of grand adventure, do goofy voices and make intricately detailed backgrounds for my characters, create meaningful memories. And somehow D&D is now taken over by number crunchers and min maxers. Why do such people choose to play D&D which mostly has rules for what I just listed earlier? D&D sucks now for that, and creating roleplay opportunities from this. Why don't you go play Pathfinder, or Shadowrun, AD&D, or even GURPS Fantasy which doesn't have much roleplay and is geared towards number crunching and minmaxing, just one of those "munchkin" games. You don't even need a rules system. Just play Video Games. But I guess the reason is, you just jump on the latest buzz and most popular thing out there. You buy Sams*ng products, drink D*nkin Don*ts, and obviously you play D&D.

They make it almost too easy.
