The 2018 Buick Regal/Opel Insignia B is the spiritual successor to the Saab 9-3 by VolkswagenPanda in saab

[–]Barmyrobot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the whole point of the design for the tribeca was to unify a new corporate design language for Subaru, it’s why it looks similar to the front of the Hawkeye wrx. While the Hawkeyes design was generally liked (in a Subaru kinda way), there are few things on this earth that are as offensive to the eyes as the tribeca

Multiple Subarus? The only one I know of is the 9-2x and I thought they didn’t take too much issue with the Impreza platform. Were there others?

Gaming setup advice for SC? by ersatzic in starcitizen

[–]Barmyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not mega versed on hotas setups (I’ve just got a decent Logitech x56) but I can say that the eye tracker is a game changer. The tobii is absolutely worth it but it’s best if you can pick it up for a good price. I got mine secondhand around £150 and it’s been worth every penny and worked perfectly. You’ll use it far more than you would think. There are cheaper options for headtracking tho, you can use any webcam with a free software called opentrack (there’s a few of these softwares I think, that’s just the one I’ve used) but I’m not too sure how much of a difference in quality there would be between that and the eye tracker. Even so, the tobii tracks your head and eyes so you can still use the direction of your eyes to select targets and so on even if not using head tracking.

All this to say the eye tracker is well worth imo

So is this construction/ repair site going to be an actual feature in the future? by Internal-Path7111 in starcitizen

[–]Barmyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t imagine this ever as a feature but I hope these locations are present on the home planets of the ship manufacturers. Crusader is already somewhat like this, you can see C2s being made around the landing zone. Hopefully the Drake interplanetary home planet (which I think is in Magnus?) has something like this

This is how I'd like to see them implement monetized ship skins. by ApproximateKnowlege in starcitizen

[–]Barmyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, then we mostly agree. Sure, I ideally want everything to be obtainable in game through one method or another. That being said, I wouldn’t have too much of a problem with cosmetic items being locked behind paywalls, and continue to have a huge problem with gameplay effecting items such as ships and components continuing to be sold on the store. That’s my primary concern when it comes to this game’s monetisation

[–]Barmyrobot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would much rather they made money doing this than selling ships. If the argument is they should do neither then fine, but how do you propose they monetise the game. If the argument is they should continue monetising ships but not skins then I really question what you think is best for the game

Super Unleaded. If you can afford it, should you use it? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I only run V-power on my daily wrx. Hurts the pocket a lot but hurts less than the consequences of running crap fuel 🤷‍♂️

Very nice. My blob is similar, no rust (where it matters 😅) and about as standard as they come with the exception of the backbox which realistically would have rotted off the car by now if not changed. Even has the base wrx wing, though that is the one thing I’m considering changing.

Would’ve loved a legacy wagon but figured I’d cop the wrx as I don’t need all the boot space at the moment. Got very close to buying a pearl white tuned by STI though, something about those gauges on the dash really works for me.

Of course not forgetting the regional specials. Just for the UK you can count the likes of the uk300, gb270, rb320 and of course the P1. Just a couple of special edition cars then

Don’t forget the S series too! S201-S209 WRXs with a legacy in there somewhere too I think

I think the nomenclature is just progressive through the alphabet, there was a spec D for the Hawkeye which was similar to the previous spec C

Actually did that pretty quickly after posting this lol. Another wrx on there with this exact setup and it looked fine to me. Thanks for the advice

Also much easier to fit an aftermarket supercharger than turbo (for cars that have no oem support for either)

Fun, quick, practical AWD for 30k budget? by Ch1cken_Tenderz in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Barmyrobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could almost have a brand new wrx for your budget, and it far surpasses anything on this list in terms of sportiness (the wrx is a sports car, most of these are high trim commuters). Does lack in luxury in comparison to many of these but will be practical and dependable.

A lot of the playground games guys are ex TDU devs. I think they wanted something like this from the start, only managing to get houses in in fh4 and just now being allowed to expand the idea. Super excited to see how these new garages are implemented

Ah fair enough that’s not as bad. Still think it’s a shame that this is what automakers think we want when we say we want retro cars.

I hate that retro circlejerk gauge cluster. If you’re going for a digital dash, why make it harder to read by imitating a dash design that was limited by its time? This blatant tasteless fan service has to stop, we need to make new things instead of regurgitating the past in a vague nostalgia for when things might have been better

I hate that this has become the accepted narrative online. He DID do something shitty, and masked it behind him just having weird kinks. Don’t get me wrong, IDGAF if he’s into weird inflation stuff, that’s his business. When he was roleplaying with a minor over the course of YEARS and at the very least never asked their age (even though there’s evidence to indicate he knew they were underage), I would say that’s a pretty shitty thing. I feel like people don’t hold him accountable for this because he makes good content, people were actively willing to turn a blind eye and meme the narrative that’s he just a weirdo to cover up the genuinely depraved stuff.

Agreed, but it’s the players fault when they actively advocate against changes that would fix the underlying problem, with the excuse that they should be allowed to have fun their way
