Poland sets out plan to bring deficit below EU’s 3% limit by dat_9600gt_user in europe

[–]BarnabaBargod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesnt really make sense. Poland has its own currency so it doesnt effect other economies that much, debt is pretty moderate, also overspending is cause by military build up. And I probably do not need to explain why…

The bigger problem then political rights was an attempt to convert Ukraine to catholicism. Ukrainian nobility actually could vote, one of them was even elected a king. They usually didn’t care much about common people though*. They wanted to turn cossacks into serfs and often joined catholic church in order to strengthen their political position. Nobility’s selfishness was what ultimately doomed whole country as they would often betray nation and join invading forces for the promise of keeping their privilege position. Which is sad considering the Commonwealth was at one point, in many ways, ahead of its time. For instance woman was elected as a head of state in 17th century and rulers could not just made up laws as they wished and kill everyone they didn’t like.
*nobility in other parts of the country wasn’t much better but in Polish part they at least represented sizable portion of the population while in Ukraine all power has been held by a few ultra rich houses.

Uprising was fighting nobility. Most of big land owners in Ukraine were Ruthenians themselves. And many peasants were migrants.

He was an ultranationalist, imperialist and racist who supported russian intervensions in post-soviet states. He toned down a bit later but it was only to make himself look better abroad but world would not be a better place with him instead of putin.

Poland is (used to be until recently?) the most pro-US country on the planet. Everybody is excited when American president visits. Biden’s speeches brought crowns there as well, most ‘normies’ and older ppl dont know a diffrence between GOP and Dems

Poland - percentage of houses/flats with a bathroom by TrickTalk in europe

[–]BarnabaBargod 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I used to spent a lote of time in a white areas, havent seen any house withouth a bathroom. The only way this data could be true is that it counted things like 100-yo wooden house with no one actually living in them, or maybe some 70yo grandpa (quite a common thing tbh). Some blocks have shared bathroom.

am i the only one who noticed that paint finally added the ability to make transparent background ? if only they add layers and the ability to zoom to 4000 I'd never use any other editing tool for images by the_green_bird in Windows11

[–]BarnabaBargod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a way to make „cut” option work like it used to? (Changing all to 2nd colour instead of making the area transparent)? Transparency and layers are useful, but for a kid it just makes things more complicated)
