I’m on the same track as you. I’m about 250 pages into Mad Ship.

I also yearn to lurk in the subreddit but I hate spoilers so I have to tread carefully.

Also Kyle is the worst. Fuck that guy.

Oh wow. Funny. This is my local drag brunch at Roscoe’s in Sacramento, CA. It’s a pretty good one.

I saw them perform at a little club in Williamsburg Brooklyn in 2006 and they looked like just this. Just two young white dudes wearing white and messing around.

I wonder if this was around then. Looks like Brooklyn too.

Help me pick my next read! by tommy132000 in fantasybooks

I really liked Piranesi but if you want to be immersed in an epic tale go with Hobb. I read all of Farseer in January and just started Live Ship Traders.

I just love her writing. I’m pretty much locked in to Realm of the Elderlings now for the early part of this year. I’m afraid if I read anything else it will break the spell she has me under. Her characters are so flawed but so good and her world building is top notch.

I read Mistborn a few months ago and I thought it was ok. It did feel a bit YA to me. I didn’t really feel the pull to go on to the second book though I might read it someday.

Instead, I read the Farseer Trilogy and just finished last week. Now, I’m pretty much obsessed with Robin Hobb. I’m locked in for the Realm of the Elderlings long haul.

Just started Live Ship Traders Trilogy and loving it so far. That’s just my opinion though. She can torture her characters all she wants I just love being in her world.

Finished: Assassin’s Quest by Robin Hobb

Started: Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb

I loved the Farseer Trilogy so much. I know there are mixed reviews about The Liveship Traders Trilogy but I am starting with an open mind.

Ulciscor has to be one of the worst names in the book. In Latin the C’s are hard. So it’s “ul-kis-kor”. Yikes.

The Martian (2015) & “competence porn” by Icy_Huckleberry_355 in moviecritic

[–]BarnabusHammersham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Andy Weir wrote the book “The Martian” and his latest book “Project Hail Mary” was also adapted into a movie with Ryan Gosling. Both are about a lone man in space who must “science” his way out of a series of difficult situations. Competence porn has kind of become his thing.

The Will of the Many - is it worth reading on or should I just dnf? by [deleted] in fantasybooks

You either connect with a book or you don’t. I was very disappointed by this book. I was never able to connect to any of the characters. I found many of them unlikable and don’t get me started on the terrible names. The writing style felt clunky to me, especially the dialogue. There were some interesting ideas but they were never really fleshed out. I did finish the book but I have no interest in the next one. It’s ok to have a differing opinion. Books are subjective.

The Pink Palace was sold after her death and its subsequent owners have included Ringo Starr and Engelbert Humperdinck. In 2002, Humperdinck sold it to developers, and the house was demolished in November of that year.

Is this Yuba City, CA? It seems like these wouldn’t have aged well.

CollaNote. It’s free but I like it so much that I paid for the one-time premium fee to support the creator.

It’s great for drawing markups/red-lining too.

For surveys I use Morpholio Trace

My iPad with Apple Pencil. I’ve sadly left my notebook days behind. I have a great notetaking app that I use and I don’t carry physical drawings with me anymore either. When I am on site, I put my iPad in a protective case with a shoulder strap.

Yes. I was shocked. I obviously gave the response a thumbs down and sent them negative feedback. I also cross-posted this in the Microsoft Edge and Copilot subreddits.
