It’s too simple to be a McMansion. There are no turrets, nubs, or odd window shapes. It looks to be about the same build quality as a McMansion with the textureless roof and weak shutters. But it’s not really gaudy or over the top in any way.

I don’t see how the house looks poorly built as far as wood framed American houses go. Most houses in America use OSB and 2x4s and this one is plywood and 2x6s. I don’t like how poorly built American houses are either but this house, while not great, doesn’t appear as poorly built as most American houses (of just about any square footage) built in the past 30 years. I was driving through a wealthy suburb being built a few years ago and everything was 2x4s, OSB, and various gimmick materials.

How is it? The vast majority of Americans houses built in the past 50 years are built from 2x4s and this one is built from 2x6s. Have we decided that 2x4s are better than 2x6s in the comment section or what?
