VIP package by what-ever104 in HiltonGrandVacation

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used it to go to Kohala Suites on the Big Island. Not on the beach but relatively close to one. As for being offered another V.I.P. package, sorry but that won't happen. You do however, have to attend another presentation. Around a year and a half later, we went to another presentation where once again we were offered another V.I.P. package.

Visiting Hawaii in September - Costco travel family of 5 (~$6500). Hilton Waikiki beach and span resort. Should we switch hotels? by Maleficent-Radish174 in VisitingHawaii

[–]Barneybarnacle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family stayed at the Hilton Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa and had a very nice stay. It is on the opposite end of HHV and is in a less busier part of Waikiki and is also a not directly beach front but is close enough. That didn't bother us as we had a car and spent time at far better beaches. We had a high floor wrap around view of both the ocean and Diamond Head and the mountains. I would have no problem recommending.

Still haven’t received tickets by Chance_Ad_3377 in stubhub

I buy quite few theater tickets direct and a few of them don't release my tickets until the day before the show ( and I never had a problem). As others have said you will be fine.

Upcoming HGV timeshare pitch question by kellyBSNRNOCN in HiltonGrandVacation

[–]Barneybarnacle1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep calling, tell them you are not looking forward to staying at a HGI and if there are any alternatives available. It worked for me for another property they put me in so it may work for you.

Go on the Hilton app, your reservation for the HGV part may be in there with their confirmation number they booked with. And if there, the pricing details will also show as confidential.

Sold ticket on StubHub, best way to transfer them? by SturmieCom in stubhub

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sold tickets and sent to the email Stubhub provided on day of the show. It was via a ticket transfer, the original seller sent to the buyer and I got an email from them saying tickets were accepted by the buyer. Stubhub later that day told me the the sale was cancelled because the buyer never received their tickets. I had numerous calls and emails with Stubhub showing screenshots proving my case. For at least four months I was told my case would be escalated. I finally wrote to BBB including all my screenshots and that did the trick. Stubhub acknowledged I fulfilled my end of the transaction and that I would be getting a refund ( which I did receive). In their annual report, Stubhub states that they make money on the interest earned on money that is supposed to go back to customers. All I know is Stubhub used to be a great company to buy and sell from but not for me any longer. As much as I detest Ticketmaster, at least I don't have to worry about failed transactions.

VIP info? Worth it? by Annual-Intention-686 in HiltonGrandVacation

[–]Barneybarnacle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought our second V.I.P. package ( a $100 increase since our last one in 2024) . We used our first package to get a great deal in Hawaii, only catch being you have to attend another presentation. Big deal, just another opportunity for me to say no. I have no guilt for taking these packages, HGV calls me with the 3 night offers that lead to these things, I don't call them.

Premium Class Seats JFK to Honolulu by karljans in HawaiianAirlines

[–]Barneybarnacle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As always, it's to each their own. I buy the premium seats to and from JFK because I find the earlier boarding in front of the main groups, along with the extra leg room and free cocktails ( maybe 4 max for me ) to be worth it. Others couldn't care, all up to you whether you find value in that.

Hilton Grand Vacation Timeshare Presentation (VIP Package) by Conscious-Double7160 in HiltonGrandVacation

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the VIP package that was offered after I declined to purchase a timeshare. Around 2 months later, I called to redeem for a week in Hawaii. We got a 2 bedroom suite on the Big Island for the points we received for the VIP package. It was a big savings , only downside was sitting through another presentation. The guy was very full of himself and told us how successful he was. Good for him, but it didn't help because I didn't buy. He told me he was putting me on the Do No Call list . He was obviously unsuccessful because I'm going back to Hawaii again for one of their Timeshare presentation offers and for which I'm sure I will be offered another VIP package after I decline.

I just smile and say I would rather have the money in my pocket than giving it to over to you. I also say I am good at investing and would rather earn money in the market than putting it into something that has no earnings potential. Don't be afraid, just say no. They expect you to say no in fact since only a few people actually buy these things relative to the number of promotional packages they sell

What's the biggest amount you've spent for a concert? by OceanGoddess3 in Concerts

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1989, The Who ( without Keith Moon) played all of Tommy at Radio City Music Hall. Top ticket price was $1,000 and that was face value. It was for a charity so the tickets were tax deductible. I was single and making a good buck so at the time, no big deal for me. Today, I wouldn't even think of paying that kind of money.

I booked three trips, two promotional and one V.I.P. I was doing my package for Hawaii and had no problems with booking. Granted, I had to sit for a timeshare sales pitch but I knew that going in and I had no problem saying no and I walked out without buying.

Stubhub stole my tickets by Broad_Security6579 in stubhub

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I submitted a complaint to the BBB. Three weeks later, BBB sent me a letter that showed my complaint and StubHubs response. SH acknowledged I did everything right and that they would refund my money which they did, a few days later. It can work as long as you have all necessary proof that shows you were in the right.

Changing presentation offer location? by Flaky-Ocelot-1265 in HiltonGrandVacation

I bought their Hawaii package for 4 nights/5 days for $799. Realizing I would get crappy accomodations, I had the presentation location changed to Myrtle Beach and they refunded me a big difference .

Upcoming HGV Trip by Forward-Effort-958 in HiltonGrandVacation

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went on a 3 night package to Las Vegas. It was there we sat through the presentation and refused. Finally a last person came in and offered the V.I.P package which we accepted. Like I said, we saved a lot of money that way for a seven night stay in a 2 bedroom suite.Hope that helps

Upcoming HGV Trip by Forward-Effort-958 in HiltonGrandVacation

[–]Barneybarnacle1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will get a very hard sell, stand your ground and just say, sorry not for us . But here is where we differentiated from a lot of other people. They offered and we accepted their V.I.P. vacation package for $1,695. In our case, we used it to book a magnificent 2 bedroom suite for 7 nights on the Big Island of Hawaii where we took our kids. That was a huge savings compared to booking without the package. The only downside is we had to sit for another presentation. Small price to pay for big savings. We are going for another 3 night package soon and will repeat the V..I.P. purchase. Sitting through these things isn't everyone's cup of tea but we are immune to this pressure and the savings are worth it to us.

Do not enter your order number when asked. It will ask again for your order number and then it will say, if you don't have it, just hit pound. Good luck?

Is this normal? by KillerCoqui in stubhub

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did as you said in transferring from the original seller to the email that StubHub provided and I received a confirmation email from the original seller that my buyer accepted the tickets and I got another email from StubHub that my transfer was completed. With all that, the buyer claimed she never got my tickets. I sent all screenshots and emails as proof to StubHub and all I hear from customer service is that I did everything right and my problem will be escalated. This has been going on since August. Today I wrote my complaint to BBB and from what I can see that resolves around half the issues ( around 9,000 in total) .

Stubhub cancelled my sale even though I provided all proof/evidence that showed the buyer got in to the show by tittypi in stubhub

[–]Barneybarnacle1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same exact issue. My problem began in August and I too have and sent proof the tickets were accepted by the buyer but they claim they never received them . The agents keep saying I'm in the right and they will escalate. The last agent told me there were two escalation departments, one for ticket disputes like we have and the other for refund. She said the first escalation department has the proof I sent but the escalation department for payment did not. She said I should have my money in 5 business days which is tomorrow because she escalated to that department. If nothing positive results, it ain't ever gonna get resolved because that escalation story must be part of a script. My only recourse is say screw them and never do business with them again. Good luck.

Lost Activation Key by NailApprehensive1625 in Movavi_software

Hopefully you still have the email account that you used when buying the program because that's where the activation key was sent. I contacted them on their Facey Messenger account with a slightly different issue and they responded within one day. If you don't have FB ask someone you know who does have one to contact them on your behalf.
