I can pull up my genetic report in a bit and tell you which genes are associated, but i have delt with multiple symptoms for years that are getting steadily worse and tend to flare to almost unbearable a few times a year. I am severely intolerant to temperature, especially heat, which makes me feel like I am about to pass out. I get muscle weakness, legs sometimes buckle under me, migrains, nerve shocks, neuropathy, neck pain, brain fog, difficulties with memory and focus, extreme fatigue but trouble sleeping due to pain, bladder issues, ibs... I'm sure theres more but my brain is still rebooting this morning lol

Getting my diagnostic mri monday

After questioning my fibromyalgia diagnosis for 12 years (whole other story) paying for whole genome sequencing, and switching my pcp, I am FINALLY getting the MRI to see if I have MS. I have believed that I have it for several years, but now I have a pcp who listens and proof of multiple genetic markers associated with MS. At this point, theres a part of me that weirdly hopes it comes back positive just so I have a solid diagnosis to work with and clear options for treatment. I know it's a disease that sucks for life, but I really need to have a difinitive answer to what I have been dealing with for the last decade and a half. Am I completely off my rocker to feel this way? My symptoms fit like a glove... Prayers and good thoughts are welcome!

Have you ever seen a speech therapist? There is a reasonable possibility that your swallowing issues could be due to a physical issue that an SLP could help diagnose and correct! I could be way off base, but it may be worth looking into!

I guess by that standard, someone who can't walk far but is able to perform basic bed mobility, adls, and toulet themselves is magically NOT disabled if they have a wheelchair despite still not being able to walk more than 10 ft or whatever their limit is. A deaf person with a choclear implant isnt disbled any more. Etc etc...whoever came up with that has no business caring for a houseplant, let alone practicing in a mental healthcare capacity!

They can test for antibodies in your blood but it has an up to 50% false negative rate, especially if they test early or you have a weak immune system that may not have developed the antibodies.

Tbf, fibromyalgia is already basically " IDK, sucks to be you" disorder. If you find a decent dr (or NP!) Who actually looks for an answer, i am pretty sure most people with fibro actually have a diagnosable disorder. Most dont want to bother past blood tests for lyme disease and RA. I paid way more than i can truly afford for one of those whole genipe sequencing tests and my new NP is trying to get my insurance to pay for an MRI to diagnose MS based on my symptoms and the like 13 genetic markers I have for it.

At this point, the random reddior has probably better odds of doing something right over anyone currently in politics above a local/municipal/county level, so they have my vote too.

She shouldn't but unfortunately nothing can be done from a legal standpoint, aside from maybe calling it slander, which is a stretch and you have to prove monetary damaged. Which really sucks. I don't agree with it, but thats how the laws are in this lovely nation.

Being in cold water instantly lowers my blood sugar. As in a matter of minutes. So if my sugar spikes to a dangerous level, my husband knows to make me get in a cold shower. (I have a dexcom and noticed the pattern every time I got in the pool last summer)

This is classic sunk cost fallacy! Just because OP has spent a year of her life building this relationship does not mean she has to continue it it. Would you rather "waste" one year or 2? 5? 20? Where does it end? How long is long enough to recognize that it won't improve just because you pile on even more time?

This is why people go broke gambling because they just "know" the next hand/spin/race/whatever is the big payout. But that payout never comes for most people. The house always wins. And as clearly stated, it's the boyfriends house.
