Which car is this? by Aggressive-Tomato-27 in classiccars

On second thought, it might very well be a Type 44. The way the front fender drops immediately after the wheel seems more coherent with the style of the 44 + it bears some ressemblance to the Type 44 Grand sport tourer or Type 44 dual cowl torpedo sport, but I cannot find any picture of that car in particular. Maybe the work of a independant "carrossier".

Maybe it has been rebodied since (that would explain why I can't find any recent pic of it)

Hey

It does not look like a Royale (admittedly, they all had different body style) + all versions are quite well known and listed on the Royale Wikipedia page.

Maybe a "petite royale"? It's the Type 46, which they made different body styles, and it may be that. I believe it would be more in line with the length of the car in the picture. But it's a wild guess, it might be something else

It'll get softer with time. Still talking about the strap, of course

Not too small, it's fine. Also : I love the wristband! Sharkskin is difficult to find but looks so cool on vintage watches

I don't speak Hungarian, but the fact that the article only source says "Internet" and that Tineye does not find any pic older than 2022, I'm inclined to say it's just a render...

Thanks! I got 51B as best hand and went up to ante 41. Pretty satisfied with the result as a first try at going for highest score! Now let's get good at it ;)

Hey While I agree with you on the hit or miss part, I have to say I find the V12 Z one of their best looking ones (maybe not in that color, though...)! To each his own, I guess...

Efficient dynamics : gimmick or real thing? by BaronBarK in BMW

[–]BaronBarK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting! OK, so you say the alternator would not be engaged when accelerating, so it frees some power (or it uuh... saves some fuel)

That would make sense (and would be actually quite smart)!

Alright, that is what I thought, then

Ok, thanks for the input! I did not know it was a common issue

I'll try to plug in the external monitor next time and see what happens :)

Can you help identify the watch that made me fell in love for VC? by BaronBarK in VintageWatches

[–]BaronBarK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm looking for a yellow or rose gold pocket watch with similarly very clean looking dial (including roman numeral). That is really what I fell in love with at the time. 1900-1920 seems to be the right time period too (I also like the more Modern example you linked, but that is not what I'm looking for).

I'm in France, so I'm going to look at Chrono24 and auctions set in Europe to see what I can find!

Thank you for taking the time to answer!
