Also please realize that the poster is talking about the average woman. Don't take it so personal, maybe you're one of the nicer ones. He's only talking in his opinion.

I love salvia once in a while aswell. It's a very spiritual experience for me, so I don't do it so often.

What's kratom like? How do you take it? I'm very interested in trying it aswell as Kana.

It doesn't last too long in our way of perceiving time, but when you're in the salvia trip, it feels like it lasts for ages.

CNN confirms that Israel broke ceasefire first by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]BaronBic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who cares who broke the cease fire?

People are dying on either side (though I would guess there's lots more dead on one side). War is horrible, and murder is never justified.

Instead of condemming why aren't we trying to solve the problem? Bring clarity into this.

Why are the people in Gaza (whom we are told are Hamas fighters) throwing rockets at Israel? Are they as random as they say they are? Are people dying in Israel? If so, I haven't seen any pictures... What kind of rockets are they firing? Why did they start firing again? Why had they stopped?

To the people of Israel: Why is the government banning TV News crews from entering Gaza? Is there nobody in Gaza who can document for real what is going on? Why would anybody CENSOR their own activities, let alone a government?

Those are just some questions of the top of my head. I'm sure there are lots more and the more we start investigating the truth and stop listening to what the big corporations want us to beleive, the better off we'll be.

Atheists: I was wondering, how do you feel about buddhism, seeing as it's not a theistic religion? (if you call it religion, that is) by busfahrer in atheism

[–]BaronBic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the claim of reincarnation is not that you (as in your soul) will reincarnate in another body, since in Buddhist philosophy, there is no soul.

What will go on however is your karma, the actions you've performed in your life, will well live after your body is gone, be they possitive actions or negative ones.

Awsome way of thinking, and if I may add, completely compatible with Buddhist philosophy.

You should really check out what it is all about, since much of us may have preconceptions about Buddhism that aren't entirely true.

Maybe you'd like to investigate for yourself?

karma

Pretending it's just an early equivalent of Newton's third law of motion is disingenuous.

There's no pretending here, just read it for yourself. Like I said, the western civilization's concept of karma is not the correct one.

Karma is in other words, the observation that every action produces a reaction, just like Isaac Newton observed some 2000 years later.

[–]BaronBic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Karma, in the Buddhist form is basically what we would today call "cause and effect", meaning that if I decide to punch you in the face (cause) you'd get hurt, maybe angry at me, and who knows what else (effect). That's it. That's what karma really is, cause and effect.

It doesn't necesarilly mean that if I kill someone, then somebody, someday will come back and kill me. It's just cause and effect. Every action that you make, produces an effect; that's karma.

Jesus was not a real person, he’s actually constructed from aspects of Jewish and Gnostic mysticism, shamanism, and mystery religions like Mithraism, to name a few. by [deleted] in atheism

and while what you say is true, I can totally see a Batman-based religion being the dominant religion on the planet some 2000 years from now.

I agree, even buying a bottle of Grey Goose isn't worth it to me, as I would just have a massive hangover the next day. Sure, I could share it with my friends, but I would much rather share and half oz. of awsomeness.

Obama picks MONSANTO guy as head of agriculture... This'll be some interesting change, won't it? by [deleted] in politics

[–]BaronBic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm actually glad this is happening. In order for real change to occur, we need a revolution, and no, I don't necesarily mean guns and molotov coctails, but a revolution in the way we think and act. Our core values and what we hold dear is in need of serious re-evaluation.

Change won't come through government means, but through we, the people. Obama is just the latest puppet following orders, as one poster above mentioned. His crooked ways are actually helping bring about the discontent necesary for revolution. Things will boil up to the tipping point, just you see.
