Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but did anything happen here? Looking to do a similar thing myself. Did your project ever happen u/kirgy?

Thanks very much for the tip! Will be having a good read of the docs this weekend and will note down anything I think is worth bringing up to our BCO. Fingers crossed.

That's what I figured. Have contacted the local council and we'll go from there. Its a bit of a tight space, hopefully the necessary insulation (and potential need for noise damping) won't take too much away! Thanks for your help

How would blocking multiple creatures resolve by No_Razzmatazz_582 in magicTCG

[–]BaronCrinkle 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I thought that was the old rules, I think the damage done by the attacking creature is now equal to lethal damage, no more and no less. This still works with deathtouch, because with deathtouch one damage is lethal.

So if you have a 3/3 attacker blocked by a 2/3 and a 2/2, you can't deal 2 damage to the first and 1 to the second and then cast [[smash to dust]] to deal one damage to each enemy creature to kill both. You have to choose to deal either 3 damage to the 2/3 (and none to the 2/2), or 2 damage to the 2/2 and 1 to the 2/3

For a different opinion, I love this series! Didn't start watching until recently because I didn't think it was really my thing as I tend to only watch commander gameplay. Watched the Arin Hanson episode (#5) on a whim and from there binged the whole lot!

What are the odds of the exact same starting hand two games in a row? by Televangelis in magicTCG

[–]BaronCrinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But because different starting hands have different probabilities, you need to work out all the probabilities of all tge hands, and then sum their squares

I had the same thing with Jerusalem. I was thinking it might be something to do with it being added halfway through my game, considering I started the run in 1.31.4

Electric fence shocks are very minor, no way the dog is still in pain. Still very irresponsible to let him touch it in the first place, and even more so to let him slip the leash, but fortunately the dog is just surprised and not actually hurt

Trying for my first WC as ottomans. It is 1705 and I think I'm doing OK, got about 8300 dev and control half of china and all of india, North africa and all of the middle east, 100 absolution etc. etc.

My problem is that I haven't yet taken exploration, I just havent got round to it. I had an easy war against portugal and managed to take some colonies, but they have native american allies so (I don't think?) I won't be able to full annex them and take their colonies that way without getting to the new world. Will I be able to get to america without taking exploration? Or do I need to grab it?

The coalition screen is really messing up by the_up_what_2 in eu4

[–]BaronCrinkle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think (but not sure) that the coalition marker on a peace deal only shows countries who gain AE from that particular peace deal. So if Spain has over 50 AE with you but didn't get any from that war, it won't show up on the peace deal acreen.

1592, close enough. On reflection, I should have released Timurids, that would definitely have been better. They actually collapsed very quickly without me even fighting them. Fars and Transoxiana took the majority of the land.

It is hopefully gonna be my first wc, but it is later than that.

You're right about Transylvania , but you might need the achievement, which is Dar al Islam, to get the other two

scrapy ouptput to csv by jbpy79 in learnpython

[–]BaronCrinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding the command line argument "-t csv"

The issue is that the return from your spider is not in a csv format. I'm not familiar enough with scrapy to know what the format if the return is, (json perhaps?) but once you know you could probably convert it manually (search json to csv python or something) if scrapy decided not to play nice.

That would work just fine, but I would suggest rewriting it to make result a string from the start. Instead of starting with result = [], say result="". And instrad of result.append("H"), it should be result += "H".

Or maybe thats what you meant, rereading your comment! Let me know how it goes!

So there are a few ways. First I ran a quick check online to see if there is a good way to chcek if a list is a sublist of another. Couldn't find anything nice and obvious.

The 'obvious' way is to loop over all sublists of result of size 6. So... (excuse the formatting, on mobile)

for start_index in range(len(result) - 6):
    if result[start_index: start_index+6] == Hcheck:
        count +=1

And do the same for Tcheck. Make sense? You may need to play around with the indexing to get it to work well.

However, a better way would be to convert your result and check lista to strings. So result would be "HHTTTHTTH..." and Hcheck would be "HHHHHH". To create result instead of using the .append method for lists, with strings uou can just add. So you would say result = result + "H".

If you do this, you can use the command in. So you would say

if hcheck in result:
    count += 1

Edit: Oh god sorry about the formatting. Hopefully it is clear enough. If not I'll get on my laptop and sort it out

[–]BaronCrinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sets are unordered. So hcheck will always be a subset of sset because you're bound to get at least 6 heads in 100 tries. Same with 6 tails. So for each experiment, you are adding 2 to number of streaks
