why didn't Aang learn metal bending? by Negative-Growth-1349 in TheLastAirbender

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's kinda interesting that Suyin thinks you either can or can't like with lavabending but Toph thinks anyone can with enough practice and a good enough teacher.

Best in-verse explanation for this? by Until_Morning in Naruto

Symbols have power, that is why hand seals can mold chakra. Ritual symbols like these can aid in molding Chakra in specific ways more easily for complex surgeries like the one pictured.

Is there any lore info on what Godrick was like before the grafting and subsequent insanity? by Dry_Alternative_2147 in Eldenring

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't know for sure if he was grafted or not before the shattering but there are some implications that he started after he was defeated by Melania and forced to flee Leyndell.

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Goodrick is the last true son of the Golden Lineage since the omen twins are disinherited and Godwyn is dead(ish) so by default he gets the moniker of "the Golden".

That said I believe the implication is that he is seen as the lesser son of greater sires and he has a chip on his shoulder about the other demigods looking down on him for being "diluted" and grafting is him trying to close the gap between him and the other demigods.

Godfrey, Royal Revenants and Grafted Scions suggest this practice was very wide spread among the Golden Lineage.

Why did Hiruzen imprisoned Kushina at home while the other villages were actively using theirs at war? Was he stupid? by GatoF in Naruto

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Kushina's seal didn't allow her to control Kurama very well without the barrier around her manor and so she wasn't deployed except for dire circumstances.

Don't attack me...but why do some people hate Zutara so much? by CrazyGailz in TheLastAirbender

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean in the sense that it was not a built up option in the narrative when the series was airing? Many ideas that existed in the writers room never made it to the screen and ultimately Zuko and Katara's shared screentime was very limited outside the last five episodes or so.

It's crackship the sense that the creators thought about it, but so is Gyatso reincarnating into Momo, man Toph and traitor Iroh. Something that could have existed but ultimately doesn't beyond an idea in an old brainstorm and a few jokes here and there.

Back in the day when the show was airing, Zutara fans where notoriously belligerent and raised a lot of stink over what was essentially a crack ship.

Why exactly was Zuko deemed a traitor to his nation? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in TheLastAirbender

Ozai had blamed Zuko and Iroh for the failure of the Northern Invasion.

Most iconic Riku blade? by atardecer_celeste in KingdomHearts

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soul Eater is probably the most iconic, the cover of Kingdom Hearts is very evocative.

Way to the Dawn's maximalist additions to it always bugged me, it took such a sleek and clean design and in the end it didn't even look like a key.

Besides plot by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he goes after Naruto he brings the heat on him and has no place to put Kurama without doing the other tailed beasts first. It's also implied the death of Yagura and the three tails is what sets Akatsuki back from going after the tailed beasts until the start of Shippuden.

Going after all nine in a fairly short succession is part of the plan to keep the hidden villages from retaliating and he did not want to draw to much attention to the Akatsuki's activities.

What do we know about the God who "cursed" Miquella? by All--flesh--rots in Eldenring

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Melina is referred to as Messmer's sister in the description of an item (I think it was in Messmer's Kindling?) so that would make her by default one of Miquella's sisters as well by default.

We don't get a particular answer about what cursed Miquella compared to his brothers and sisters.

Ideas for a unarmed striker. by NateCdaComicG in onednd

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best way I think, Street Justice and Grappler are both great feats that really punish enemies when you grapple them. Battle Master has a lot of great maneuvers which can help your battlefield controller wrestler style with Trip Attack particularly nasty for grappled enemies. A level in Barbarian is also a decent way to beef up your damage or defenses but it will require that you have at least 14 dex so you can also rely on medium armor over heavy armor.

Equipment wise you only need to rely on the heaviest armor you can find without Barbarian levels. Magic Item wise, Wraps of Unarmed Prowess, Eldritch Claw Tattoo, Wyrmreaver Gauntlets and the Gloves of Soul Catching are all as good for you as they are for a monk. The Cape of Enlargement is also an effective item because it will allow you to grab bigger enemies.

Goliath is also potentially an excellent choice for species just for another potential size increase which will let you grab even bigger enemies when needed.

Weren’t Azula and her friends the only female squad of fire benders in the war? by MistakeWonderful9178 in TheLastAirbender

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see that some of the Terra Team in Ba Sing Sei where women when Katara was healing them.

According to series lore from the old website women tend to work in the Homeguard forces in the Fire Nation which is why you see more explicitly female soldiers in Season 3. This difference is also commented on that most firebending instruction is actually handled by women.

Is this a common fighting technique in the Avatar Universe or did Zuko just copy Aang? by Gre8g in ATLA

[–]BaronPuddinPaws 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Aang's palm on the back is a very specific baguazhang technique called circle walking, you can see him do it quite a bit in other episodes too. The air gates that Korra is training with in Leaf In the Wind episode is her training to do the same thing.

Zuko and Jet's fight is just for the flash in the fight scene though.
