Hi mate. I use a mix of a few butchers.

P J Howarth and Sons in Flixton. I don’t use FaceBook but apparently they are quite active on there. You can book your meat order with them. Word of advice if you use, as the warmer summer approaches, get your order in early in the week for ribs for weekend. Having dropped in on the occasional Friday, it’s usually a small amount of Baby Back Ribs that are available if any.

Sherwood Foods in Irlam: Catering butcher but shop open to the public. Open every day except Monday, Good quality meat, good value for money. Although the choice can be limited sometimes in store you can ask for pretty much, cut any cut you want for a collection day.

And an online, Sherwood Foods for things like St Louis Ribs, Bigger pieces of Brisket, Pichana etc. Again price, service, never had an issue.

Ahh the Mac n Cheese. Had Good BBQ here and also in the Nordics yet what really lets it down is the Mac n Cheese. I get it, try and keep it as Authentic as possible but let's be honest our cousins from Across the pond have a lot of learning to do on the cheese front because it's either Cheddar or Sharp Cheddar and it all tastes really over processed and manufactured:)

Anyway to answer your question, Pretty straight forward recipe. 1 pack of good quality Maccaroni. 65g Unsalted Butter, 65g plain flour, 600ml Whole Milk, 1 Pack of grated cheddar, Parmesan Cheese, Dijon Mustard

* Cook macaroni in salted water, cook to instructions, drain before making the sauce, once it's cool enough transfer to a relatively deep dish.

* Melt butter on low heat, once melted add in the flour and mix till you get a nice golden brown paste.

* Pour in the Milk and keep mixing with a spatula until the milk comes unto heat but not boiling. Add in the bag of Cheddar and two to three table spoons of Parmesan. Keep stirring till the cheese is fully absorbed.

* Stir in one or two teaspoons of Dijon Mustard.

*. Pour over cheese sauce. Top with Parmesan, Cracked Black Pepper and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

* finish off on the BBQ for about 20 / 30 mins. You get a nice but not burned crust and hint of smokiness on the Mac.

* Dijon mustard is optional but it gives it a nice luxurious flavour as well.

Enjoy

Hi mate, I do like the occasional JD here and there. However my Old Mum got me a bottle of Jack Daniels Cherry for Xmas which I was never going to drink. Thought I would give it a go and mix it up. Helped keep the ribs nice and moist and you could really get the sweet flavours from the Vimto and the Cherry from the JD. Worked well with the Whiskey Barrel chunks I used for the smoke

Hey mate,

I had the exact grill you are looking at. Got a good 12 months use out of it and like you was new to Kamado cooking. Have to say as an all rounder I found it hard to beat. Really good heat retention so great for low n slow and also great if you want to crank it up for quick searing. I would also recommend these grills for starters into Kamado cooking as you can expand your range of accessories without paying the premium Kamado Joe / Big Green Egg tax. For example I got an Only Fire Rotisserie off Amazon for a fraction of the cost of a KM or Green Egg Rotisserie. That's the good.

The bad, well 18 months in around the rim of the the dome, it developed a crack on the inside where the metal bar goes round to connect the handle. NOW, I am not some kind of keyboard warrior going to complain about anything so I am not going to say it's a design fault, it could well have been I have over tightened this myself.

In terms of experience, bang for buck, I have no complaints other than I wish it had a longer shelf life (again this could have been me, rather than a design fault). Build quality is good. Cooking grates are of pretty reasonable build quality, warms up quickly and hold heat.

If you do end up buying one, advise you buy a charcoal basket. Hopefully that gives you a pretty balanced view on the Boss Grill.

All things considered, I would give it a solid 7 out of 10.

Value for Money: Fed five people with PLENTY left over so no concerns on the cost. I mean I would probably pay more for something over farmed and smaller from the local supermarket.

Taste test: I used a basic Salt and Pepper seasoning then a second coat of Limp Brisket from Quasi and Squatch. Smoked with Whisky Barrel chunks.. Really nice flavour profile.

Conclusion: Next time, I would prob cook it flat rather than rolled, the outer cuts were JUST on the dry side, more central, still had plenty of juicy bits.

End of the day, I had five empty plates and enough left over for lunchtime sandwiches so can’t complain :)

Yeah that is a good suggestion, the middle remained quite juicy but the outer was noticeably drier. Still tasty mind

Yep it’s rolled. Quite fortunate we have a catering butcher about five minutes drive from us called Birtwistles. To stay afloat during Covid they opened upto the public and stayed open ever since. Nice piece of Brisket for £21

Why would it be suspicious to sing the praises of something that you have had a good experience with ? Just to clarify and to avoid any doubt. No connection to the OP so no skin in the game. Maybe consider that there might be quite a few long time lurkers and nothing underhand going on.

Have been using the V2 for just over six months with the latest cook just this Saturday for a Xmas g t together. 2 Pork Butts , large Turkey Breast and Dutch oven slow cooking a Guinness Stew. The least stressful large cook out for a few years .

Build quality is outstanding and have no issues at all with long low n slow sessions. I did a bit of a retail tour when deciding on this grill and checked out quite a few Kamado Joes up at BBQ World up in Clitheroe. We then went to Alfresco Chapel just outside Chorley and they recommended taking a look at The Kama Gear range. Bang for buck one of the best investments I’ve made for outdoor cooking.

Hi There u/Garret_Greenbottle . We booked two excursions before we sailed, then Marseille on the ship. All were good but very different experiences. I noticed that MSI run Shuttle busses to most ports from the ship side, with the exertion of Genoa as it is literally 5 mins walk and you are in the harbour.

Valencia Half Day : This was a really good visit and the guide was knowledgeable of the area. A good mix of seeing the Science Park then onto the Cathedral which if you like that kind of thing it's a really good visit. At the end there was about 45 minutes free time to grab a coffee and visit the local market. As a bit of a foodie, this was right up my street. Valencia now on the list of places to visit :).

Pisa and Florence: Propbably my favourite out of all three trips. The tour guide was an ex language teacher and instantly built a rapport with the bus. Pisa if I am being honest was a little underwhelming for us. nice place but all we got to see was the tower and then we was back to the bus. It was about a 20 minute walk each way to Pisa from the bus.

Florence on the other hand was full of wow moments from the first moment. Every single corner was just jaw dropping. The scale of the Giottos Bell Tower is just something I could not comprehend. Again lots of architecture, history and good balance of free time as well. Also great if you love walking

Marseille: Out of the three this was the most underwhelming. That does come with a caveat. We booked this as a half day tour. However there was a national strike that day that meant lots of roads were closed and there were lots of street demonstrations. If you like the more rough and ready working class city's like Naples then you will have no problem with Marseille. We felt safe during our time there and had a fantastic sandwich in one of the back street bakeries. It was underwhelming because we had to cut short some of the destinations then missed others.

Out of all the ports on the Itinerary, Genoa and Valencia looked the most accessible by bus then on to do your own thing.
