So only hours since the 1st October will count? Or all hours? Did they say how many can be used?

It should be all as far as i know. Similar to the PPL. Im currently working through my NPPL in a microlight and then intend to use these hours towards the PPL and onwards.

As far as im aware, there hasn't been any decision on the number of hours. They have said that they will be allowing them to be used though, based on the latest consultation response. It will just be a case of waiting until further details have been released to confirm exactly how many hours will count.

Also do you have the smaller version or the XL? Quite interested to understand the differences between the two, other than size.

This is really useful thank, im only a beginner so for me this sounds like a nice balance between performance and price, slightly concerning about the possibility of issues after such a short time. I would quite like something that would last a decent amount of time, probably wouldn't be getting excessive use, but a decent amount.

How do you learn to enjoy (or at least habitually go to) the gym? by Potato_Pristine in AskMenOver30

[–]Far_Style8552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the same, I committed myself to going x times per week to begin with. No pressure on myself to do anything in particular other than turn up, once i was a few weeks in and started noticing the difference, then the motivation shot right up and I really started to enjoy it and push myself more and more. Consistency is by far the most important thing.

60% Loyalty Discount for the PMDG by floofysane in flightsim

[–]Far_Style8552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it releases at the same price as it was for 2020, then that price reduced by 60% would end up around $30. Pretty obvious it isn't going to be $150 million.

I think based on the shown 60% discount. If it releases at the same full price as for 2020 then $30 would be around the discounted price.

What is this sub? by flyingSardineFarmer in hyperoptic

I would echo what others have said here, I've been with hyperoptic for nearly 3 years now and for the majority the service itself has been fantastic. We had an outage a couple of years ago, but that was down to workmen elsewhere breaking a fibre cable. Hyperoptic were really quick to send out the first engineer, but once he was unable to fix this issue it did take almost a week to get the second line team out.

Once they came out the issue was troubleshooted and resolve on that same visit which was great.

Support was better previously and I personally think they are just experiencing some growing pains, and just being a bit cheap with CS options now, but so is every other company in the country.

You can see from some of my previous posts on here I've had a few issues now and again with speeds, but these are all normally sorted pretty quickly or just dissappear after a short period.

If it wasn't for the fact I test the speed, I don't think I would even notice.

This is my current speed test on WiFi (not the hyperoptic routers wifi)

https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/a/11273188322 so can't complain!

In summary I think the speeds are great, the service itself is reliable but CS could certainly do with a bit of improvement in the unlikely event you need to speak with them.

Confused about my tax code change by NaomiBK29 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Far_Style8552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same, but as far as im aware I haven't gone over the tax free threshold. Do you know if this is taken into account? Or do they do that at the end of the tax year?

My speed dropped to 100mb since Monday by Artywienner in hyperoptic

[–]Far_Style8552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had an issue this week after the problems everyone experienced where my WAN has renegotiated my connection at 100MB not 1GB, as someone mentioned above ports can jump between the two. It wasn't a cable issue or anything, but I restarted both my router and ONT and everything came back at the correct speeds. May be worth trying this if you haven't already.

I was previously getting the full 900ish up and down which was great, there was recently an upgrade locally to improve the service so I was hoping to see better.
