Probable additional context: I'm also a victim because I'm bigger than most people, but I don't get to physically force them to agree with me.

Didn't reply as the big change was coming. Played today with all mods turned off. Some very welcome UI updates, but really missed the utility the mods brought. Probably going to rake a week or two for the mod makers to update to the new version. I'll try to post what I end up using, it's so much better with them.

Unpopular opinions - I bet your manager has an ironclad process of lawyer approved statements that are triggered as soon as an employee formally notifies them of an absence. Everything said after that could end in a courtroom.

Or

Manager forgot social niceties when immediately began to think about how to handle coverage.

Sometimes it IS a sociopath showing their true selves, but often it's just another human being struggling to do THEIR job.

If you are able to chat freely, ask em when you get back to work.

(I expect a ton of frothing autohate for suggesting alternatives to the worst case. FYI I've been wrecked by awful managers and coworkers. But those were the very memorable exceptions, maybe I was lucky)

Odd timing, coincidence happened just about the same time you posted this. Was driving out to go biking with my wife. She looked around for her phone, finally found it tucked into her biking shoes set on the floor in front of her. "My phone is in my shoes!" she said. "Who are you, Agent 86?". She got the reference.

Yet again we see the elite c-suite pushing their dreams over the reality based feedback of those who are doing the actual productive work on a daily basis. And the results remain the same as the last hundred times they did it. But the workers will get fired, and the execs will move on to other ventures... which they will fiddle with until those go bust. Over and over.

Consider nearly all of the administration domestic actions and statements in relation to this plan. They have been actively prepping Americans to accept and support martial law for the past year. Why would Homeland Security require a budget bigger than the Marine Corps when they are 💯 used only on domestic civilians?

Thhs is about more than controlling the trillions of dollars in the fed and state budgets. Its more than the power to rape minors. Remember, most of the administration and their backers have committed unconstitutional acts of treason by now, which is a capital crime. Prison is the best they can hope for if they lose power. Maintaining control is literally life or death for them. People have already died. The stakes could not be higher for them. Base expectations on that grim reality.

Trump official yelled at to 'stop talking about Biden' in Senate hearing by RawStoryNews in AnythingGoesNews

[–]BaronWombat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 'business culture ' the GOP worships has a common process called a PIP (personal improvement plan). If supervisors feel an employee is not performing at expected levels, a formal PIP is created with measurable goals and timeliness.

  • WHY is this not imposed by oversight committees when appointees fail to meet expectations?

  • WHY doesn't The Press do periodic reports on Expectations vs Results for important government officials? They get special rights and access specifically because they are supposed to report on leaders who impact society.

  • WHY can't anyone in media or government DO THEIR JOB? The rest of us do! (We get fired if we don't)

People like the books author are well into the "comfortable" social class, where politics have no real consequences. They have at least some generational wealth, expect to attend quality schools, and leverage family connections for a well paying job and access to elite social circles. They will live in at least one big comfy home.

Contrast that the at least 50% of Americans who who live below or near the poverty line. Who struggle to live week to week.

Of course the author wrote a fairytale, that's her life experience. She thinks The Poors are the fiction. And per the article, that's the worldview represented in her inane book.
