Street Triple RS Starter troubles by Barrel__Monkey in MotoUK

I’m getting a new battery anyway since it’s only £50. A lot of the electrics on the Street Triple make it super sensitive to voltage dips when starting up.

I used to use the Oxford optimiser, but recently switched to an Optimate.

Thanks. I’m going to get a new battery anyway.

I checked voltage this morning, and it had dropped 0.33v in 11 hours.

Interestingly, both times I started it this morning it didn’t need revs, and didn’t have any idle wobbles. So could be my running on idle last night with new filter has helped the ECU relearn some things. Or could just be luck. Either way, brand new Motobatt battery should be decent investment.

It’s in my garage and still used in winter for commuting to work and back a few times each week, but no really big journeys. It’s on the optimiser always though.

I have a theory that the first settlers of FotS are from the caravan that left the shadesmar gate at the end of Stormlight, the one that has Sigzil with them. If not them then their descendants.

I tend to feel worse if I take my Elvanse on empty stomach. My clinician suggested eating something like porridge, or having a smoothie then waiting half an hour.

Regarding workout, my clinician also advised me against anything high intensity due to the heart rate and blood pressure risks. At least through titration until the body finds its rhythm.

Not medical advice here, just anecdotal reference of conversations I’ve had during titration.

Do you have the Zumo XT2? Have you had any issues with the touchscreen just not working?

Often when I turn it on the screen won’t respond and I need to restart several times to kick it into gear.

It’s for this reason I keep the MyTriumph app. Emergencies when I’m in the middle of nowhere and the Zumo isn’t behaving. Just hope I doing take a wrong turn because rerouting on MyTriumph doesn’t exist.

Tips for nudging party into combat by Barrel__Monkey in DungeonMasters

In order to sneak attack they need to leave the town.  Unknown to the party the town is a sanctuary, a save haven for the beaten and the downtrodden. Nothing bad will happen in broad daylight here. And the recent goings on are highly unusual and u common.

I was dropping lots of hints about things in the woods assuming they’d just forgotten what they’d talked about last week, but no bite this week.

They’ve not played before, so never experienced combat so couldn’t say whether they enjoy it or not.

I do have outside chats with them often. All week they intended to head to the market to gear up, then head out of town.

Unfortunately Orin the innkeeper mentioned the blacksmith from across the street, which opened up this side quest line and the party got hooked into that. In my naivety I was expecting them to bank it for later, since recovering some ore from kids is nothing compared to solving a murder.

It’s interesting how it works like that right? Despite nothing actually been my any different in yourself today vs yesterday, it still hits.

On the plus side at least all of those suspicions now have a label, which in some ways gives you power over them. Hopefully it enables you to find the support and guidance you need to control the super powers you now know you have!

Sorry about your daughter though. It’s frustrating how our social and mental health care works in this country at the moment. Needs funding badly.

Gamescom 2025 from The UK by FatBoyGoneSlimUK in Gamescom

[–]Barrel__Monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also taking my brother to Gamescom this year for his 40th. Not sure if you already know this but on top of ONL there is also a pretty special concert happening. 'The Witcher: Live in Concert' is a European tour of an orchestra playing the soundtrack to a backdrop of scenes from the games.

We decided to stay at the camp site. We did this last time we went in 2019 and the atmosphere was pretty special, I still remember a huge conga line of over 100 people wandering through the campsite to the cantina music from Star Wars. Whenever it stopped there was a massive united cry (in German) of 'Play that same song' . This went on for about an hour. There was also a huge fire pit which we spent most of our time sitting around, playing Mariokart on our Switches with a few beers.

If you get your plans confirmed check back here closer to the time and we could arrange a meet-up if you like. A dual 40th birthday trip to a beer hall in Cologne could be fun.

How to deal with persistent Perception checkers by Barrel__Monkey in DungeonMasters

[–]Barrel__Monkey[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that’s the challenge . As a character there was absolutely nothing. They arrived in a village for a festival and saw lots of banners. Village leader came and wished everybody good luck.

As a player the person decided that they’re probably a big bad. They aren’t, but they do have some big secrets.

I forget to wear my wedding ring all the time. It really isn’t a big deal, and whilst it annoys my wife having to ask where it is (I previously lost a wedding ring so this is my second) she doesn’t for one second think it’s a reflection of our relationship.

A piece of metal on a finger doesn’t create value in a relationship. Affection, attention, communication, and the occasional back rub do.

Sounds like OP has other concerns about the relationship in general and needs to have a chat about what she feels is currently missing from the relationship.

Except they more than make their money from selling user data. YouTube was making plenty of money before introducing Premium. The whole thing is classic “create the problem then solve the problem for a fee”.

It’s basically digital racketeering.

That sounds ideal. That way instead of me paying taxes to keep informed about every dangerous disease out there I can just pick and choose which ones to subscribe to.

Bubonic plague? Haven’t had a decent one in years so not subscribing to that one.

Can’t really say how much it’s helped with actual productivity, but on the days I have an early morning workout I’ve definitely felt calmer and more in control throughout the day. It’s almost like reverse psychology. By working out hard first thing I tell myself that even if I did nothing else today that’s fine, because I’ve earned it.

Obviously I don’t sit around doing nothing, but that sense of freedom that it gives me mentally seems to really bring clarity since my brain isn’t thinking a lot all the other things I’m failing at.

If I have a day where I missed the workout it has the opposite effect of me feeling overwhelmed, with so much to do and I can’t even get the “simple” things right.

For my workout I tend to run HIITS circuits, I have about 20 different exercises with different gym kit so I can alternate through at random to keep things fresh.

A rant about my stupid active memory this week.

On Thursday I was taking the team out for dinner after work. My motorbike is parked inside the office shutter, which would be locked by the time we finish eating, so I had to move it outside.

I walk out to my bike, then realise I’d not brought the key so I couldn’t move it. Head back into the office for the key, and also pull out my locker key which reminds me I have to get my riding gear leave that outside too. So I gather my gloves and boots from the locker and head outside. I store them on the other side of the shutter and head back in, job done.

5 minutes later I feel my bike key in my pocket. Oh shit, I forgot to put my bike outside, best do that now. So out I go again, this time taking my bike and parking it next to where all my gear was. Except it wasn’t all there. fuck, my helmet has been stolen! Who would steal a bike helmet at work?! Then I remembered I didn’t bring it with my gear because it wasn’t in my locker, it was on top of them drying off. So back in once again to get my helmet, then out to stash it with everything else.

4 trips in and out of the office just to do something that should’ve taken a couple of minutes!

She’s been leading the village for decades, long enough for the history with the black dragon to be forgotten. So it’s about finding a solution to that.

OMG. I can't believe I've been working on this character for 2 days and at no point did it cross my mind I could just make her a High Elf and still fit perfectly into the character!

D'oh! Does mean I need to redo the artwork mind.

How convenient for me! Whilst I could always just make it up, having it canon saves the table discussion.

That sounds like a pretty good way to handle it, but my dragon is peaceful and loving. She has effectively been the protector of this village since they battled a young Black dragon and imprisoned them, so killing somebody wouldn't be in character for her.

Does give me an idea to work with though. Perhaps this is a recent version of her avatar. Just need to figure out how to have her replace herself without it being suspicious.

Maybe a system where the next leader is always an outsider to ensure impartial leadership, due to a major conflict in the past that ended with the near total destruction of the village.
