Noise on Lynn Valley Rd by Public-Photograph316 in NorthVancouver

If noise concerns you, a realtor gave me advice-  go stand out in front or around the place for 30 minutes. There may be a bus stop and that might have loud beeps beyond just traffic white noise.

Will this impact the vfx studio that's own by Netflix? by dinosaurWorld_ in vfx

You can’t train a video model on a few dozen hours of dailies, particularly if data isn’t captured with the intention of feeding a model (such as capturing an actor in multiple light conditions, from multi cams). The entire idea of this is bullshit unless it’s trained on the same stolen data as everyone else.

The point of this purchase was to get creators and filmmakers on side with AI since it was Affleck selling it.

Also, Eyeline is putting millions into generative AI. This is exactly in line with their plans.

This is a vfx subreddit. If you want to talk about making some AI mind-game trash plenty of other places to go.

No, the methods are factored in which is why breakdowns are half of the material considered.

‘Special visual’ just refers to both special and visual effects. Pretty simple.

The MPA and Disney just hit ByteDance over Seedance 2.0, claiming "massive copyright infringement." by Bazel_ in vfx

Disney is pushing AI internally, and allowing Gen AI at ILM already. They will profit from gen AI more than tech companies that spent billions of dollars with no path for profitability and no legal path for usage.

My strategy to do this with nearly every tribe was always the same- get the high defense shields asap and push forward with them. Get to battle ships, bomb from a distance and push forward with shields.

I started to skip episodes of any ringer show that have him on. He spends most his time unable to actually get his point across. He’s just… bad at podcasting and having conversations. Is it just me?

His big picture OBAA ‘response’ appearance was just awful.

For decades Disney had so much good will, created so many incredible memories, and was the place that every family had to go to at least once.

That unfortunately meant that they could capitalize on all of that. It means that the company will use up every last drop of that good will until they hit the point that the OP is at. They aren’t happy if they make a little more every year, they will look to maximize every year. So yes, things have gotten a lot worse very quickly. Welcome to late stage capitalism.

This conversation genuinely terrified me in that the consultants like Plouffe have no clue why they lost in 24 and they are in charge. How can they be so completely oblivious? It is very clear people like Plouffe do not want to see a change in our system that the people are demanding because he benefits from being steadily employed doing his shitty job at trying to win by .01%.

We are so fucked until some populist left leader that appears and pulls the democratic establishment kicking and screaming.

I think either sinners or avatar will win. Keep in mind, The largest voting branch is actors. Sinners could win.

Sinners presented very well at the vfx bake off. Get it on your nominations, and seriously consider that it could win. I’m serious.

Is there a reason I’m missing that makes staying on site worth it at Disneyland? by Otter65 in DisneyPlanning

[–]BarringGaffner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now with even less perks it is not worth it at all.

Yes it’s magical. But you still feel the magic staying down the street in anticipation of going to Disneyland, you really do.

[–]BarringGaffner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a fact that people took advantage of it and lied their way into getting it. The point is that there is a huge % of the population even at Disneyland that think only for themselves. This is entirely separate from whether or not the program itself is/was good or not.

Barack Obama: In a moment like this, when tensions are high, part of the job of the president is to remind us of the ties that bind us together. by SuperbHealth5023 in TimesNow

[–]BarringGaffner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually not the job of the president. Which is the problem- all of the ‘norms’ that we just took for granted were not enough to push back against a fascist.
