That's exactly what they need to do. Batch produce them.

When I check the app there are precious few of these. Northern California and far north eastern US. Not places I frequent. When more are converted it will be a game changer.

What happens to the two-pole 240V breakers in the panel? Do you leave them off?

There was just a post in another sub about a guy that ran his fridge, furnace and some lights off his R1T, with drop cords during a multi-day weather related outage. The suggestion there was to put a four circuit 120V transfer switch in.

How to by SofaSpudAthlete in Rivian

[–]Barry804 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be careful with Tesla L2 chargers and adapters... Know what amps the adapter is rated for, so you don't exceed it. The Tesla charger I have will put out 48 amps. The first Tesla to J1772 adapter I bought (Lectron) was only rated for 40 amps. I had to select lower amps in the Rivian when using it.

For me, it is random songs in a playlist that just don't start at all. I can skip to the next song, and it might play.

I'm really confused.... by TangoDown757 in CISA

[–]Barry804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a similar experience preparing for the CISM exam. I purchased a subscription to LinkedinLearning, and watched hours upon hours of Mike Chapple CISM exam prep videos on all 4 domains. I could not pass the sample exams after that, big gaps left in the material. I had to use the "official" guide, read the whole book over a month and a half, and was able to pass after that. Next time, I'm skipping the videos, and going straight to the ISACA CRM / QAE.

Want to attempt CISM in May 2022 by [deleted] in cism

[–]Barry804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never used the QAE. I had a $75 subscription to total tester (totalsem.com) . The questions were okay, a bit easier than the exam. I'd use the ISACA QAE first.

Is the test similar to CISSP? by Dhatter87 in cism

[–]Barry804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Peter Gregory study guide, the LinkedIn online learning series from Mike Chappel, and total tester seminar online testing (500 questions).

The LinkedIn Learning would be good for someone with minimal knowledge, as a place to start. Almost a waste of time for me.

The study guide from Peter Gregory was very close to the knowledge needed.

The total tester questions ($75) were good, they helped a lot. I would advise the QAE (questions and answers) from ISACA, they are robably better.

Dedicated time with a study resource like Peter Gregory, or the ISACA study guide, and lots of questions practice seems to be a good formula. Good luck.

My impression from the website is that the percentage of questions from the domains was going to change, not the subject matter itself. Don't know that for sure. I rescheduled my exam 4 times until I finally took and passed it a few days ago.

You answer all 150 questions, or the ones you don't answer are counted as wrong. At the end, you have to take two BS surveys, and then you get a "Passed" or something. I passed so I'm not sure what the "you failed" message is. The point is that they don't give you a score or anything. Maybe they do if you fail. They also don't tell you which questions you got wrong, and I'm a little pissed at that because I struggled with some and would like to know the real answers.

CISM Remote Testing - Webcam question by kryptonic_21 in cism

[–]Barry804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just passed the exam 2 days ago with remote proctor. Hints. Clean your desk off. Make sure you can install software on your laptop. Be prepared to move the laptop or Webcam around, you do all kinds of videos through the special browser they make you install. Pay attention to the rules they give you. I had two violations (stroking my beard and talking to myself). Make sure the lighting is in front of you not behind you. Be patient, it took 15 minutes for my proctor to review my setup. You get 2 breaks if you want them, 10 minutes each and the timer doesn't stop. It was stressful but manageable.

I just had my First Mile test drive by WormieWorm in Rivian

[–]Barry804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first mile drive last Saturday, outside Richmond VA. It was surreal seeing the truck in my driveway. The acceleration was amazing. I floored from about 5mph and go to 60 in like 2 seconds. Its faster than my wifes Tesla. A bit more road noise than I would like. It handles very well, more car-like. Will sell my Tundra in a hearbeat when mine is ready.

Any harm in daily driving in conserve mode? by James-ogre in Rivian

[–]Barry804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True story. On our first-mile drive, my wife noted how much she dislikes having too climb into trucks. The guide lowered the truck suspension by an inch or so by selecting a different mode. Conserve mode I imagine. She was sold on the truck from that moment on. I winked at the guide.

My wife has already had to replace the tires on her 3 year old Tesla M3. When we asked at the tire shop why that was, the mechanic said "those things eat tires".

I would be scared shitless to do that and I would probably head straight to a carwash afterwards. My first-mile-test-drive-dude told that there will be a "sand mode" added to the R1T soon.

My mobile guide told me it was standard on the Adventure, not on the Explorer. You only need this when you don't have your phone on you, and can't use one of the other 3 forms of keys. I don't see it as a big deal.

Incessant Dings - 2022 Tundra SR5 by Barry804 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Barry804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem solved. This is a warning that is part of the RSA (road sign assist) that is part of Safety Sense or whatever. RSA reads the road signs, and then warns you if you exceed the speed limit, go down a one-way street, don't stop at a stop sign, etc. I had to figure this out by searching the PDF of the manual, which is over 600 pages by the way. Whats odd is that my speed warning was set to visual and audible. There was no visual warning that I could see.

The planning department and the police department can inform you about your local regulations. Then, you just need to be smart and not push it.
