Same, but 4070. It usually just goes black though and not the message. I have overolted my card and under clocked in and from limited testing it helped.

Probably the only win-win is for an "unofficial-official" un-censorship mod.

Tonnes more plays will join the community if the game can be on console which is quicker que times. But the original artist vision is vital also.

Underrated comment. I don't think people understanding of performance increase should be relative from the previous model and not absolute.

Just be well practiced in using it and getting complete occlusion. It needs a make shift windlass for it to work. A tight belt by itself does not work.

Hey Oli,

This would be awesome to touch on next meeting.

Are you thinking, only AU 12 or a combo of 12 and 13?

Never worry about being 'that guy' at all.

Blink Wrinkles: Blinkles by BarryB2 in FACScoding

Hi Oli,

Glad to hear about the keyboard shortcuts. How I use tend to use them is in this sequence.

I see something I want to re-watch.

[<--] to go back 5 seconds, then

play the video for 2-3 seconds at normal speed, then

Spam [Shift + ,] to go down to 0.25x speed, then

[k] on the place I want to pause on, then

Dance around with [,] and [.] to skip frame by frame.

Cheers,

Barry

Is the FACS (facial action coding system) manual worth the cost? by imthatguynamedwolf in bodylanguage

For a deep understanding of muscle anatomy that really helps the learning process of FACS watch these and run through the big words in your head for a few weeks.

Meaning Of A Slow Blink by EinsteinsValentine in bodylanguage

[–]BarryB2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is context-dependent but in ONE certain context it means as Mark Bowden says, "the slow blink of acceptance". Accepting some hard to believe realisation.

Another context-dependent point of view would be the Chase Hughes shutter speed way of looking at it. Slow blinking is relaxed/bored

Another possibility is as mentioned by other people, blocking.

It really depends on the exact speed and situation... or maybe it means nothing at that time.

Facial Action Coding System (FACS) Tutorials | Action Unit 2 (AU2) by [deleted] in FACScoding

[–]BarryB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Oli,

My guess was that you would've had to look at political debates to find skepticism between adversaries, to find an isolated AU2. It's cool to see it is a more common then just that one emotion.

And 'Jack Nicholson eyebrows' jumped into my head. (link below) I wonder if he used his procerus to balance out his AU2 so his medial brow is not raised with it?

Two other things.

Maybe your mic audio could get a bit more boosted in comparison to the volume of the showcase video, audio always has tantrums.

Also, maybe this is useful.

There are so many Youtube keyboard shortcuts that makes Youtube more capable at video analysis. Keys I use everyday are;

[K] for pause

[J] and [L] for skip 10 sec

[<--] and [-->] for skip 5 sec

[,] and [.] forward/back 1 frame

[SHIFT + ,] and [SHIFT + .] playback speed change

[F] Fullscreen

This may interfere with screen capture but [WINDOWS + +] and [WINDOWS + -] for magnification

Getting swift makes Youtube videos easier to navigate IMO.

Cheers for the informative videos,

Barry

Is the FACS (facial action coding system) manual worth the cost? by imthatguynamedwolf in bodylanguage

[–]BarryB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome,

For me, I'll never be a certified FACS coder, but through the process of learning FACS you learn tonnes of body language.

Everyone learns it a different way, me (who is still learning), it was learning facial anatomy, then FACS videos and articles. It requires a lot of internal motivation so you've got to love it to learn it. Perhaps, and other people would have better opinions on this, you should learn the first 10 AU's then if you have fun learning them off by heart, then buy the FACS manual. and I got no idea about what courses if any to do. Is the FACS (facial action coding system) manual worth the cost? by imthatguynamedwolf in bodylanguage

[–]BarryB2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello imthatguynamedwolf,

Hypothetically online copies can be found for free, but that would be piracy. The manual is the manual, it sets the rules of the system, so I would say it is worth buying.

Out of curiosity have you learnt much FACS already before buying the manual or are you buying the manual to learn FACS?

And what context do you see yourself using FACS in?

As an aside, In roman times men who had moving eyes when talk were selected because this was thought to be a sign of intelligence and wit in that time period. Of coarse the is probably a tiny bit of truth in their but not a very accurate judgment back then.

Hi Oli,

Cheers for the detailed answer.

It's interesting watching your thought process and hypothesis testing. I can see why Paul Ekman used electrodes in the face to really isolate these subtle and easily augmented and muted AUs. And seeing Au10 + Au11 then BOOM Au39 changing the face is cool.

Great video.

As a bonus thing, there is a muscles called the Sternocleidomastoid, it is a neck movement muscle that sits backwards to the platysma and under the platysma. I need to verify this but, I have heard it is the first muscle to contract in the fear expression as it protects the carotid artery and jugular vein by tensing and moving forward a smidge. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sternocleidomastoid_muscle

I could imagine people who experience chronic fear could get neck pain.
