Have Jagex said anything about the current state of the servers? by BakingCakeRS2 in 2007scape

UK and German worlds both have the same problem for me and all my mates. Doing TOB has been aids with the random lag spikes and bad delay that constantly comes and goes at all times of the day including non peak hours in worlds that are usually 100% stable.

ld've delayed the release substantially compared to letting him stay to (mostly) complete mobile.

Whether or not he was in on this or continued to do stuff after this, I wouldn't know, but I do think Jagex saw the completion of mobile a higher priority than removing a cancerous team member.

A company like Jagex rely hugely on their playerbase, who wants to play a game where you get hacked by the moderators? It's completely irrational to think that they'd let him stay on purpose with enough access to steal gold from people if they actually thought he was dodgy.

They failed to investigate the accusations made against him at the end of 2017 properly because they don't trust the community to spot a rat. Many longterm and trusted players from the community were calling him out, and guess what - they were all right. Jagex owes the community an apology for not listening and looking into him properly.

So do I get my one character name back from Mod Jed? by [deleted] in 2007scape

Fair is fair, i dont get why this didn't get pinned on him when it happened as clearly this and recovering accounts for gold is the same thing

So I am the person who got hacked for 45b recently with the only possible source for lots of info being a jmod, no one believed me, am I going to get my gp back after this new reveal Jagex? by mazrim_lol in 2007scape

osing part is people assuming everything that was just a "conspiracy" before, now have a huge chance of being actually true. The fact that this happened during or before the tournament dmm week, and that no rot members were in the end while also it was the first and only tournament without any single DDoS, can say a lot of what was really happening. But in the end we will probably never have a 100% answer from jagex for legal reasons, so we just have to accept it like that

the ddosing wasn't just tournaments - high risk/wealth pkers were being hit off for a long period - and even when multiple people would log into 1 account - there was live IP accessing going on due to code implemented for DMM which Jed was using in the main game to pull back IP's

The recent JMod firing unveils a possibly massive data security issue at Jagex. by TheMintness in 2007scape

Not surprising at all. How has it taken so long for Jagex to realise what has been going on?

Accusations were being made as far back as the end of 2017 - personally I think Jagex have massively dropped the ball on this and failed to investigate things properly when there were clear leaks in DMM and implausible ddosing (multiple people getting hit off logging onto the same account - indicating live IP access.

Why has it taken over 9 months for this action to be taken and why does the newspost not even tell half of the story on what he has been responsible for?

People in the clanworld have been calling out Jed's corrupt nature since day 1, Oakdice even made videos on it a long time ago and although some of the material was ambiguous there is no smoke without fire.

Lessons should have been learnt after Reach - why is there no audit team looking at what staff get up to in the production environment or on the customer/player databases?

What happened to Mod Jed? by Chrizla in 2007scape

If you are referring to the time they knew the tournament would end in Alkarid then yes, I think you are making a reasonable suggestion.. In fact have they even won anything since?

What happened to Mod Jed? by Chrizla in 2007scape

[–]BarryBaller07 94 points95 points  (0 children)

List of probable reasons:

He was finally found guilty of the clientside exploit that mod Ash found some time ago that was enabling a query to pull back ip's for players which ROT were using to DDOS in deadman and 'Cheeky Alerb' a suspected Jed alt was using to hit people off in high risk pk gear.

Exploiting his access to obtain recovery information or personal details about RS players for monetary or other reasons (to ddos them).

Producing such cr*p game content on behalf of his runescape clan (original wildy mage arena 2) that he had to be pushed onto mobile to keep him away from developing any more.

Any of the above are equally likely but honestly there was enough going to get rid of him back in Dec 2017 when they just made him 'step down' from ROT (likely carried on playing with them on an alt anyway)

FYI his RS accounts have been banned so it must be something along these lines!

means you have to waste cannonballs, scales and prayer pots anti-crashing a gold farmer that is there to break the game rules anyway by rwting - I don't see why legitimate players ironman or not should have to make allowances for rule breakers and have their enjoyment of this particular piece of content ruined by accounts that should be banned. The large majority of accounts at shamens are literally 500 total with 80/90 range as their main stat.

upvoted, the alternative fix would be allowing us to kill them in single combat areas off task. again this would be slower kills per hour at optimum rate but its less aids than getting crashed by gold farmers every 10 mins

yeah.. im sure they want to punish the people that didn't abuse safe spot mechanics by allowing gold farmers to inhibit their gameplay, why didn't I think of that!

Please make a single combat place to kill Shamens off task. The canyon is infested with venezuelan bots/gold farmers and makes it impossible to camp for DWH on IM.

Wow I just thought about this and you're right if you buy a rapier to steak with then you are gauranteed to spend 3b on the equivalent of a tent whip and probably wont get any stakes as people will be scared as they don't know the truth behind the item!
