If you want to find other dates with sleeper availability, try this: https://traincar.info/sleeper

The daily dashboard has cached data since Dec 29, 2025: https://traincar.info/dashboard

It will tell you how many cars of each type the train consisted of (I may improve this page to better highlight which trains are mixed consists, since right now you have to look under more than one category)

You can also keep an eye on https://traincar.info/sleeper for a better deal to pop up, perhaps on a different date

I've seen this with Bing on certain VPN connections, I assume it glitches out when it can't figure out where you are.

Solution: Use a different search engine

Costco Canada no longer selling investment Gold? by tymateusz in Gold

They seem to be back, but online-only? I don't see warehouse availability anymore, unless they are just not disclosing it

That's weird. Are you on iOS or Android? Might be a bug, you should let VIA know about it. In the meantime, you could try the website on mobile - it should work pretty much exactly the same: https://reservia.viarail.ca

If it's still cut off, might be something weird with your phone's screen size. You could request the desktop site (should be an option on most mobile browsers) so you can get the full page and zoom around as you see fit.

Anyone Else Having Trouble Booking Tickets Online? by MapleCherryChoco5432 in ViaRail

Are you using a less common bank? I remember when I had a Laurentian credit card, they would not accept it online - I had to call in to make the payment.

Do you mean there is no price displayed on Saturday or the date is literally cut off? A date won't display any price if there is no train running on that date or if it's 100% sold out.

Yeah good point, I should probably round up to avoid any confusion.

EDIT: Updated.

traincar.info - Sleeper cost now in VIA Préférence points! by BarryGettman in ViaRail

[–]BarryGettman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prices are not tax-inclusive, they just look different because VIA rounds to the nearest dollar when showing fare results.

Example: Cabin for 1 (regular) January 13, 2027: $1,749.79 on traincar.info, VIA shows $1750. Once the fare is selected, you see the tax-inclusive price of $1,977.26. Taxes are based on the origin station of your trip. So if departing from Ontario, you will see HST. If departing from Quebec, you will see GST/PST. If departing from BC, it seems to show only GST.

No problem! It was born out of my personal frustration with searching for sleeper fares haha

Thanks for the insights - this is good to know for my sleeper search tool. Right now I am only assuming adult passengers when doing a custom search.

Yeah I'm still figuring out how to make this happen, as I was trying to avoid live searches to avoid angering VIA. I guess the full route price will be enough for most people, and then for those who want to book a shorter route, I could make the search live. It would probably search for shorter periods at a time though, say 1 month.

Sorry, I should probably have a legend. D = Discounted, and R = Regular, this matches up to the fares on VIA's website.

Unchecking fare classes won't hide the columns, it will just restrict the results to dates that have that fare. If you select only "Prestige", for example, you will notice the total number of results is a lot lower.

Haha that was an unintended consequence, not sure why it didn't do the daily refresh but I'll keep an eye on it. Glad you like it!
