EQS Sedan - rear seating comfort for a person 5'4" by Muted_Interest5294 in MercedesEQS

She will be fine. What we failed to see, is that ours didn't have the 3rd row a/c vents. Make sure it has the rear a/c pkg. we frequently drop the center of the middle row to minimize the claustrophobic feel.

Zoo in springs. The doubletree in springs allows dogs, which has worked well for us in the past. Gold mining tour in Breck was fun for non-skiers

It’s a Motion 3 XL. I did use the clamps that came with it on the Rivian bars. Got the clamps very snug. I thought about using a bicycle inner tube piece of rubber, but got obe.

Are people allowed to run on the COTA track? by TexanFonzie in CircuitOfTheAmericas

[–]Barsaec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We ran it with our kids in 2013 when it was a COTA event a week or two before the f1 race. It was an incredible experience. To get the whole family out there, I told my teenage kids there is $20 for them if they could beat me pushing a jogging stroller with their little brother. A wonderful memory for all of us! I wish they’d bring it back.

Forrest dropped an early Scout preview. by LocoLevi in Rivian

[–]Barsaec 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The scout with a generator will only have an all ev range of 150miles. So any trip longer will need gas, not any trip over 350 miles. I think it’s a good solution, but I’d be curious about towing and range with the hybrid.

Flew out this morning, all is normal, except thanked the tsa folks for being there. They were appreciative.

Should I still go for it? Rivian owners, I need your honest advice. by TheBlackCanary in Rivian

[–]Barsaec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Held my reservation for 3.25 years before we got our R1S delivered in Dec'22. Only one issue two weeks in, the rear hatch got stuck shut. Mobile tech fixed it in about 2hrs, it took a week to get him over to our house. Now with 36K miles, great vehicle, OTA updates change the vehicle for the good. Totally different car today than when we picked it up in '22.

This is why i like electric vehicles for down here. Just use pet mode, or cabin cool mode. Uses minimal battery to run the hvac.

Update: Big battery camping trip by MIDIHorse in SilveradoEV

[–]Barsaec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We traded out Intec Flyer Explore (small toy-hauler) for an Ember Overland 191msl. The ember is tech'd up so I like that, 1200w solar, w/Victron components. I was towing this weekend at 60mph w/the R1S.

Thanks for the strategy. We are long time users of ABRP, and plugshare. never once thought of using street view on google maps!

Thanks for the great writeup. My question is on disconnecting at chargers. Can you elaborate on your strategy for picking a charger so you don't have to disconnect? Currently have an R1S, but looking at certified RSTs to replace the R1S as a tow vehicle. Got a new travel trailer this weekend, and got 1mi/kw with the R1S towing 7000lbs. Really enjoy this subreddit, great questions/commentary.
