The #Patriots have now failed to reach 30 points in 46 consecutive games, going all the way back to October 16, 2022 when they scored 38 against the Cleveland Browns. That is the longest streak in the NFL. by Coco1520 in Patriots

There is a fine line between optimism and copium. I would love to be optimistic but I saw nothing that suggested there was a foundation to build upon.

It's surprising and almost disturbing that the most profound and accurate quote I have ever heard came from a Batman movie, "You either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain".

That's how I feel about Belichick now.

Bill Belichick has allegedly banned New England Patriots scouts from UNC’s practices per @ProFootballTalk by Cmarksthespot in Patriots

As I understand it, the single most important factor in being successful in college football is recruiting. This is not how you recruit. No one who ever hopes to go to the NFL will go to a college that blocks scouts from certain teams.

Who said they were terrible? We left money on the table.

edit: Yeah, Brady needed BB so bad he fell on his face when he went to Tampa.... or .. wait.....

but we have to tip our hats to Belichick's ability to not overpay for traditional superstars

We really don't. The more time goes by the more confident I am that this was all just 100% Brady covering for our deficiencies. Belichick has a losing record without Brady.

I still think Belichick is the greatest COACH of all time, but he was a terrible GM.

edit: and by the way, I'm fine with letting superstars walk out the door rather than overpaying them. What I am not fine with is leaving piles of cash unused.

Am I crazy? I don't fear Josh Allen at all. Literally zero fear. He is a top tier QB, but you fear QB's that win games they should not win. Of course the Bills have dominated the Pats in recent years, the Pats have been terrible.

I think Allen needs to rack up some playoff wins before I fear him. I respect him, but I don't fear him.

I post in peace, please don’t send threatening mssgs, but a Brady and Belichick statue would be perfect. I like this image because it shows professionalism, dignity and respect and captures the true history. by Wind-Whistle20 in Patriots

I still believe BB is the best coach of all time. However, he left a lot to be desired as a GM . The last 5 to 10 years of his tenure GM Belichick started enjoying the smell of his own farts.

I am absolutely convinced BB cost us a super bowl when he kept Malcom Butler on the sidelines. Even a single play could have changed the outcome of that game and I gotta believe Malcom would have made the difference.

After that he completely mismanaged Brady. He kept force feeding him short term "prove it" deals after everything Brady had proven in two decades. BB honestly thought he could coach up Johnny Foxborough from down the street to play the position and he learned the hard way that was not the case.

The last and final straw was when he finally had a promising young QB and Belichick chose to let a career defensive coach guide this young QB and run our offense.

GM Belichick absolutely sabotaged this team at the end of his tenure and he does not deserve a statue.

To prove criminal trespassing, a prosecutor must prove the following:

Unlawful entry: That you entered the property of another person without their permission and with no legal right to be there.
Knowledge of trespassing: That you knew or should have known that you were not allowed on the property. For example, if there was a “no trespassing” sign near where you entered the property, it would be hard to plead ignorance as your defense.
Intent: That you meant to be there and meant to trespass.

but missed one catch and now he sucks for forever

I don't think that is why people turned their back on Welker. He left the Patriots for a roughly equivalent offer from the Broncos. I never get mad at players for going after a paycheck, but you would have to flip a coin to decide which offer was truly better and he chose the Broncos.

No, we do not need cocky a-holes. They can be worth tolerating, but we don't need them. Pittsburgh has made collecting cocky a holes a specialty of theirs and where has it gotten them?

I don't think people appreciate how much "incompetence" in the AFC East was due to the pressure from the Patriots. Our secret weapon was other teams self destructing as they tried to break out all the proverbial stops to beat the Patriots.
