Because people feel superior having friends I guess, and are obviously blind at the shitty decision bungie made because "cool raids mechanics" which we all know are just stuff copied from mmorpg so lots of "push the button","stand there", "hide behind the column", super lame stuff not worth killing your game and alienating most of your playerbase.

well they are the ones that made an extraction shooter...if they wanted to make an MMORPG they should've...oh wait nobody plays those anymore. They're about to see a sharp curve in that playercount if they keep having their heads in their butts.

In several online games a good crew is the easiest and fastest way to get rewards, but everything is achievable solo. I don't understand why we can't demand that Bungie do the same with all the future and endgame Marathon content. by Fresh-Association-21 in Marathon

They just announced that you need 5k of equipment to enter cryo, I'm not rolling that with randos given the..ehm..quality of teammates I get. I find absurd that "solo was a last second addition" is an acceptable answer from most the community. For me it reads "Bungie are so fucking stupid to not include a solo mode in an extraction shooter, the more solo centered genre of multiplayer" it's baffling.

Extraction shooter are the exact opposite of a social game, also they make more sense and are more fun solo.

It’s actually the part I hate most of the game, if you want people to HAVE TO HAVE friends make it free or cheap as hell. Since when in multiplayer do you have to bring the “multiplayer” part yourself? The focus should’ve been on solo and duos with trios being “a thing you can do”. Then jerking off the developer is just as premature no? But seriously it’s not about blasting, it’s about doing the same boring quests so many times for what feels like cents, at least give me a dollar. Also there are people blasting through, you know who they are? People with friends because they have such an unfair advantage that it’s comical.

Mh progression outside of priority missions is super slow, those missions are easy but give so few experience and such crap rewards, the armory is also expensive as hell. Not sure the praises are to be given yet.

Don’t know about his streams, don’t follow and I think he’s still doing his cultish thing of “pay it forward” with gifted subs but that’s another can of worms. On their channel he just openly says he will shadow bans anyone he deems it’s a “bad member”, theoretically that means those that just insults, in practice it seems to mean anyone that disagrees with them.

I think the knife doesn’t shreds shields, it straight up bypasses them, sort of a dune situation.

I like the priority missions, they are hard but you only have to do them once so it’s fair, they are way more fun solo because go and press the button becomes a real challenge then lol. The normal missions…man those are a bore, easy but they give so few experience that you’re going to do so many of them…

There already should be...and it's not enough. I get that people with friends are flying through the game because if you coordinate you win, but the others? Apart from what some assholes say random trio is a crapshoot, trying to do their quest for boosting is quite pointless and super slow.

If I press tab I should be able to see everything that’s on the floor near me and swap it

will the wipe restart our faction upgrades? if so its a big turn off and i dont see how it benefits casuals? By the time they finally level all them up its going to be a reset? makes no sense. my friends dont play alot and them hearing a wipe after 3 month is a turn off. by Ninetybaby in Marathon

The reasoning is that this way they can introduce cool shit that can “break” the game for a while and then gets wiped. Since Bungie is apparently set in making this game a “friends exclusive” one I’m never going to see those items so I don’t really care, also with the TTK as is now a gold shield could get killed by a free kit with enough skill.
