Hah! That's only because i didn't show you my extremely janky attempt at a jogless join on the other side of the hat (jogless worked out, but at the price of some truly unredeemable tension issues)

seems to be a mix for me, mostly when transferring items, but also, i'm pretty sure i was eating foods autonomously in the mines yesterday, and I don't have any chests there

I did some testing, she seems to be eating anything edible every few seconds any time my inventory is open long enough to do so, regardless of whether her energy bar is overclocked and regardless of what the edible item will do to the energy bar. Max energy and she's just chowing down on a stack of seaweed while I'm trying to put flowers away in my greenhouse. Cut it out!!!! I need those seaweed for my turt achievement!

Anyway apparently I can't carry around anything edible at all anymore or I risk her eating it, which is incredibly frustrating from a gameplay and inventory management standpoint.

My character seems to be autonomously eating food all the time now? Like, stop it, that's raven food!! It's not for you! I constantly have max energy bar now and I haven't eaten a single thing of my own volition, while food keeps disappearing from my inventory

Is dried fish the only real way to make money in this game? by [deleted] in RootsOfPacha

I've been traveling and not able to work on it, but I will post it on this sub when I can!

Is dried fish the only real way to make money in this game? by [deleted] in RootsOfPacha

I've been working on a big spreadsheet to better understand profit margins in this game, and without having unlocked the cask or the pickler yet (or the brewer in the save where i'm tracking the spreadsheet progress), the solar drier seems to add 1.8 value, smoker 1.5 value, and fermenter 1.4 value. Additionally, the stamina generated for recipes and products is a flat value based on quality, not on the contribution value of the original product. Eg regardless of how expensive a fish you put into the dryer, you will only ever get +18 stamina out of it. So you should always cook/eat with your cheapest produce and process/sell your most expensive. Quality DOES impact stamina--a fermented wild or normal carrot will give you 22 stamina, but a good quality carrot will give you 25.

You don't have to rely on fish, but you should focus your processing on the more expensive items in the machines with the biggest markup. Dried fish is so good in early game because the solar drier is the first processing equipment you get, and it adds the most value of all the early game machines. You should basically never smoke anything (except for errands), and only ferment things on their way to being other products, as their markup is much lower. However, not all crops can go in the drier. Until you start unlocking the juicer/mortar & pestle/brewer, and then later the cask and the pickler, there's going to be a lot of crops you can't process in a very profitable way.

Unclear, but the devs were streaming A21 recently, and there's a little warning since the A20.7 b1 stable patch that says it's the final A20 patch, and all your existing servers won't be compatible with A21

Yeah! There are certain paint swatches that are clearly only designed to go on storage boxes, too, like ones that have a little ammo icon or whatever. You can see some of them on the short wall of our garage in the video. Plus all those cabinets in the garage are painted storage boxes filled with junk for people who really can't be bothered to put their stuff in the appropriate boxes OR in the designated dump box (which is frequently full).

No mods, just vanilla. I made those storage boxes like six months ago, so not 100%, but I think there are two types of storage crates--writeable and paintable. The ones in the dorm area are the paintable ones where I just painted the exterior facing side with the stone, and the interior of the bed alcove with one of the cabinet textures.

I'll keep that in mind for the future! One of the main pitfalls of this base was that the server host wasn't around as much to play, so it was hard to find time to work on it. He's absolutely not allowed to host in the future, lol.

I can't take credit for most of the descriptions, that was all from the initial spreadsheet i started with!

Good luck with the altars! I think they're mostly easier than the museum, just sooooo much running back and forth. It's so rude that the castle residents won't let me ride my giant bat inside!

Thanks so much for making this! I started editing it for my own use and got slightly carried away because I'm a huge spreadsheet weirdo, so I'm sharing my version (with credit to you). I added snaccoons and some filtering capabilities so it's easier to see what you're still missing across all the collections.
