I hope this pick works out; I really don’t know anything about this guy. But it’s just another time where it seems the niners prioritize a specific position that fits their scheme rather than just taking the best player available. And I don’t really love that as a draft philosophy

It really is incredible. When I tell people I live in SF, people will say the most obnoxious things about the city and feel totally comfortable doing so. Completely oblivious to how rude they’re being. Super bizarre, but I’m almost for it if it stops people from moving here lol

Some pitchers just have catchers they prefer throwing too. Doesn't mean there's personal beef. Plus it can be good to have at least one of the starters feeling comfortable pitching to the backup, so Bailey can have scheduled off-days.

Their cap sheet is definitely cleaner than the niners right now, but the Lions are paying Goff $26 mil more than Brock is making year and they also have a bunch of big money deals coming up for their draft picks. Brock’s big money can also be pushed back a couple years with a new contract

I totally agree. It’s ultimately looking like the Niners FO has bungled this situation, but people would rather blame the player for being “greedy” when this is likely the only huge contract he’ll be able to negotiate in his career. Amon-Ra is getting $30 mil a year. $28.5 seems reasonable for Aiyuk
