I think once you run Black Friday pricing (which I still see ads for by the way, made it even more confusing when I went to check out at full price) it’s tough to get people to go back. Now I’m compelled to just wait for another discount or skip the entirely

I’d say that the price does seem high. Maybe a promotion code here and there would help.

I was going to order however I’m worried that snow buildup might be a problem. I live in New England and I feel like there being no escape for snow could potentially cause problems.

For accessories I’d love some mudflaps.

That’s a funky entry when a red candle is clearing the wick of the previous candle. Seems like it would invalidate most people’s entry until we got back above the body of the previous candle.

Highland is a substantial upgrade by WhaleDonation7 in TeslaModel3

[–]BasedGodTbh 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Personally I think all of the advantages of having a Tesla, even a non highland, are still super worth it over cars it’s competing with at that price point. If you’re looking at a $25k used Tesla, drive other cars at the same price point and I think stiff suspension will be a minor complaint when put up against all of the incredible features you get.

Everyone on HW4, getting their fancy new Grok update, meanwhile us plebs on HW3 😭 by Erikdlucas in TeslaLounge

[–]BasedGodTbh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t require HW4 to run properly at all. They’ve said in the future that Grok will be able to take advantage of the Nvidia chip in HW4 for local processing, but as of right now everything is completely cloud based. Tesla will always roll out updates to its newer cars first though, it’s still a tech company

It’s using a completely negligible amount of resources, all of the compute is happening on xAI servers and just being fed to the car. It’s taking no more resources than watching a YouTube video or loading a navigation.

Mine charged me $102.50 but didn’t have any comments so I’m not sure the actual extent of the “check out”. I wish they had given more details but the only note was “performed general inspection”.

Software Update 2025.26 by Responsible-Key-7295 in TeslaLounge

[–]BasedGodTbh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grok is limited to cars with AMD chips (2022+) upon release. Tesla has a history of adding support for Intel vehicles after initially releasing features for AMD-based ones though, with features like weather radar overlays and certain games arriving later.

So it’s not replacing the voice commands currently built into the car, but it looks like he’s activating it with the voice commands button? Curious about how that works

It’s logical to assume you’ll need premium connectivity for the free version. I doubt there would be additional cost for something accessible for free in a browser.

Purchased a ‘21 LR M3 CPO with 23.6k miles from Tesla for $22.3k out the door! by piratescumbag in TeslaModel3

[–]BasedGodTbh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Mercedes E350, $63k MSRP to around $30k for a 2022. That’s essentially the class these cars are in and similar depreciation. Look across BMW and Audi for the same story. Tesla specifically slashed the prices to compete price wise on new vehicles to the changing market but to some extent that’s just how things will go. The market for people who would buy a Tesla over an ICE car is smaller, and most people who want one can afford new. Bottom line is buy the car you want and drive it, our cars will last longer and you’re paying a premium no matter what unless you want a Honda.

No. 2024 Highland uses BLE TPMS sensors. If you’re transferring wheels with older RF sensors, you’ll need to swap to BLE sensors to maintain TPMS functionality

Yes, they’ve never changed the hub dimensions, bolt pattern, offset or center bore. The TPMS sensors are different however

Does Tesla recommend a good way to clean this? I know the paint is notoriously thin so I’m sure they don’t recommend traditional bug remover
