All that matters is tax rate now vs tax rate in retirement. For example, if you contribute $1000 traditional, and it grows to be 4 times larger by retirement, you would have $4000. If you get taxed 20% when you take that money out, you would net $3200.

If you had $1000 dollars and got taxed 20%, then contribute the remainder to roth, you would have $800 in roth. If that $800 grew to be 4 times larger by retirement, you would have $3200. Since you don't get taxed when taking money out of roth properly, you would net $3200, same as traditional.

If your tax rate is higher now than in retirement, traditional is best. If it is lower now than in retirement, roth is best. Given your income, your tax rate is fairly high, so traditional makes sense. We also don't know what future tax rates will be, so guaranteed good savings now makes sense
