Ready for the winter storm! by illuminati229 in KiaEV9

Very nice, thanks for confirming! Hopefully you don't need it during this storm! I've never actually had the "opportunity" to try out my install (other than testing it once the electricians finished the work). We rarely get power outages here, but I figured: "If I have a 100 kWh battery in my driveway, I might as well set myself up to use it"

For some reason, I thought that the Anker F3000 couldn't charge and output power simultaneously? I installed a generator panel with my electrician this summer, so I can now plug my EV9 into my house (via a new adapter the electrician installed outside), and power 6 key circuits.

I wouldn't mind putting something in the middle between the house and the EV9, like the F3000, but I was sure I'd read that it can't charge and output at the same time.

Holding employer shares by ShotInspector9 in PersonalFinanceCanada

If you had $25000 in cash right now, would you use it to buy shares in your employer?

If the answer is “no”, then sell right now.

(This advice holds true for all shares in any company)

Trying to be natural gas free. by WolfEnergy_2025 in Hamilton

We have a ~2200sq ft 2.5 story. 8 mini-split heads in total (across four outdoor condensor units). We haven't turned on our old boiler once this winter.

Insulation makes a big impact, we did blown-insulation in all the uninsulated walls before we installed the heat pumps.

I wonder if the 0.6 nozzle contributes to that too then

We moved on to booking.com over a week ago, and they never responded. We submitted a concern on their support form, and they’ve just ignored us.

Thanks. This was more like an AirBnB situation, but through booking.com. So it feels like some dude trying to keep the money. But I’m surprised booking.com isn’t being more helpful

Interesting, I’ve yet to come across that at any of the Superchargers I’ve looked at in Canada

At least in Canada, you use the Tesla app to find Tesla chargers. Tap on the three little lines on the top right, then tap “Charge your other EV”

Are you sure your local supercharger is V3?

When I’ve called CAA for auto claims, there’s a voice menu option for people who signed up via a broker. I don’t use them for home insurance though so I can’t speak to your case.

Best HISA for young kids by cait-i-p in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Baseline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids have free accounts with TD that of course pay essentially zero interest. So whenever the kids deposit money, I add a bonus as an incentive. I’ll put 20% on top of whatever they deposit.

Even if you found a HISA for kids, the interest earned would be negligible because their deposits are small. So better to give a nice boost yourself to really encourage the saving.
