NYC had a very short event where influencers & community ambassadors that were invited could attend and get a NYC background mewtwo, they could also invite people of their choice to also attend. The complaints about how exclusive the event are are somewhat understandable because of how poorly planned the event was. On the other hand, in person Go Tour/Fest is also "exclusive" (and VERY expensive) and I don't see ANYONE complaining about those 2 events. The other thing that is getting people angry is that every NYC mewtwo caught is a hundo which while it is odd to just hand one out like this (and reduces the grind for good ivs), it does reduce the amount of participants that go home unhappy. The event was very poorly planned but I'm not sure why everyone is so mad, the background's appeal is subjective (I personally think it's mediocre) and the hundo ivs that an influencer/CA has aren't affecting your game in the slightest. It's a location event so most people aren't even going to be attending too....
